"O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and f

emale and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Acquainted."- Quran (49:13)

"If we examine the trials and tribulations, wars and other conflicts, every act of injustice all over earth, we'll find they are rooted in human hearts.
Covetousness, the desire to aggress and exploit, the longing to pilfer natural resources, the inordinate love of wealth and position, and other maladies are manifestations of diseases found nowhere but in the heart. So if you want to change our world, do not begin by rectifying the outward. Instead, change the condition of the inward.
Everything we see happening outside of us in reality coming from the unseen world within. It is from the unseen world that the phenomenal world emerges, and it is from the unseen realm of our hearts that all actions spring."
-- Purification of the Heart, by Shaikh Hamza Youssuf.

You better reflect upon and learn the meaning of each verse of the Quran you recite rather than hasting to finish one Chapter or Juz’ each day in Ramadan to complete the recitation of the whole Quran throughout the holy month.
The Quran descended upon Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) throughout the 23 years of his mission as a Prophet and the Prophet never really completed the recitation of the whole Quran in Ramadan.

“Whoever relieves a believer’s distress of the distressful aspects of this world, Allah will rescue him from a difficulty of the difficulties of the Hereafter. Whoever alleviates [the situation of] one in dire straits who cannot repay his debt, Allah will alleviate his lot in both this world and in the Hereafter. Whoever conceals [the faults of] a Muslim, Allah will conceal [his faults] in this life and the Hereafter. (Muslim)

Assalamu Alikum
Ramadan Mubarak dear everybody.
The Muslim Tribune family wishes you a very blessed month.
May Allah accept the best of your deeds and ours.

And here we start the first night of Ramadan with this beautiful long inspirational prayer...

***********

"Lord, You know better than myself that I am growing older and will soon be old. Keep me from becoming too talkative, and especially from the unfortunate habit of thinking that I must say something on every subject and at every opportunity.

"Release me from the idea that I must straighten out other peoples' affairs. With my immense treasure of experience and wisdom, it seems a pity not to let everybody partake of it. But thou knowest, Lord, that in the end I will need a few friends.

"Keep me from the recital of endless details; give me wings to get to the point.

"Grant me the patience to listen to the complaints of others; help me to endure them with charity. But seal my lips on my own aches and pains -- they increase with the increasing years and my inclination to recount them is also increasing.

"I will not ask thee for improved memory, only for a little more humility and less self-assurance when my own memory doesn't agree with that of others. Teach me the glorious lesson that occasionally I may be wrong.

Keep me reasonably gentle. I do not have the ambition to become a saint -- it is so hard to live with some of them -- but a harsh old person is one of the devil's masterpieces.

"Make me sympathetic without being sentimental, helpful but not bossy. Let me discover merits where I had not expected them, and talents in people whom I had not thought to possess any. And, Lord, give me the grace to tell them so."
