We are thrilled to announce the full line-up for BurySOUND 2025! As always, five heats will be held at The Hunter Club in Bury St Edmunds, with the Grand Final taking place at The Apex. Each date will feature a guest headliner and five competing artists; this year's heats will be headlined by HEADCHECK (winners of the BurySOUND 2024 Rising Star Award), hip-hop hero $EBBUKU, art-punk legends PUNCHING, indescribably brilliant alt-folk-grunge magicians FLAT VENUS and rock royalty FINAL TRANSMISSION, while the Grand Final will be headlined by BurySOUND 2025 winners JADED TEETH.

All shows are 6-11pm, all ages are welcome (under-14s with a parent/carer) and tickets are ON SALE NOW, only £5 per show from WhatsOnWestSuffolk.co.uk or via the Apex Box Office on 01284 758000.

Calling all East Anglian bands, duos and solo artists: you have one more week to sign up for the BurySOUND Music Competition 2025!

The Heats will be held at The Hunter Club in Bury St Edmunds during March, with the Grand Final taking place at Bury’s megavenue The Apex on Saturday 12th April (headlined by BurySOUND 2024 winners JADED TEETH). ALL genres are welcome.

Since winning the Rising Star Award at BurySOUND 2022, QUEEN DOGS have continued honing and developing their skills as a powerful, fabulously entertaining punk-metal songwriting force. This year has seen them hitting festival stages with their new line-up, a heavier sound and ace single ‘Uh Oh!’. They’ll be co-headlining The Hunter Club in Bury St Edmunds with punk legends AWAP this Saturday (16th November); also on the line-up are THE FIFTH FLAW (who played a brilliant set at BurySOUND this year) and new bands FLAT BENUS and LAVA PIGEON. It feels like an aeon since Washing Machine last hosted a royal engagement by their punk-metal majesties QUEEN DOGS, so we’re feeling deeply patriotic about welcoming them back to The Hunter Club this Saturday, 16th November as they co-headline alongside AWAP.

This year's BurySOUND winners JADED TEETH will be at The Hunter Club Bar & Venue in Bury St Edmunds this Saturday, supporting previous winners FLEAS!

This Saturday, 18th May at The Hunter Club in Bury St Edmunds we're utterly thrilled to welcome back JADED TEETH for our FLEASTIVAL ALL-DAYER (curated and headlined by the mighty FLEAS).

Born from the ashes of SubStation, Blue Sunday and The Moochers, JADED TEETH weave together the USPs of their previous bands (searingly emotive lyrics, instantly memorable tunes, staggeringly creative musicianship) to create a spellbindingly brilliant array of alt-country anthems, quite unlike anything else coming out of anywhere right now. As part of their prize package for winning BurySOUND 2024, JADED TEETH will receive a recording session at Ipswich's fantastic Punch Studios!

Nestled just outside the town centre and sharing a building with The Smokehouse, Punch has long been THE go-to studio for local artists wanting to make huge-sounding records on a modest budget, from Gaffa Tape Sandy, SuperGlu and Horse Party to DINGUS KHAN, Slughouse and Substation (who recorded their epic tracks 'Chilli Powder' and 'Daughter' as part of a BurySOUND prize package).

We are hugely grateful to Punch for providing our winners with such an amazing opportunity - thank you to Gareth, Joe, Jake and everyone else at the studio!

Brilliant to see lots of BurySOUND artists from across the years appearing in this list, including this year's winners JADED TEETH (6th April) and Rising Star Award winners HEADCHECK (20th April)!

We love seeing artists heading off to do amazing things after playing BurySOUND. For instance, PET NEEDS played the competition back in 2017 (one of their very first shows). Fast forward to 2024 and they've recently scored a Top 20 album in the UK charts and are enjoying Worldwide success as a hard-touring punk band. Similarly, Gaffa Tape Sandy never competed, but all of the members did in their previous projects (Fortunato and Deaf Ecstasy), and the band played one of their first shows as guest headliners in 2016. Now they're gearing up to headline the Apex as part of a huge tour and festival season as they release their hugely anticipated debut LP.

Is there a moral to all of this? Probably, and it's probably just to keep doing things you love and see where it takes you. Everything we do for positive reasons makes the World a better place, so keep on keeping on.

And PS - we're taking applications from September, so get busy with that new project right now!
