FULLY FUNDED! Now let’s stretch! Incredible! In less than 72 hours, we’ve reached our initial funding goal for the first episode of THIS IS NOW! We are heartened that so many people are excited about the premise of this show and we can’t wait to get to Chicago and start shooting!

Any additional funds we raise over our initial $2500 goal will go toward producing future episodes and leveling-up our production kit, so please help us spread the word! The Kickstarter is still up and running until August 21, smack in the middle of the DNC.

Some of you have asked about add-ons, so you can get an extra t-shirt, zine, etc. We will be adding those to the campaign shortly.

That’s right, when the zine returns in May it’s not only going to be FOR KIDS, but it’s going to be made BY KIDS! So we’re looking for contributions from artists in grades K-12 who love to make comics and single-panel cartoons and want to see them in print! An interlude between Sonic Youth spins for this new 45…

A kickstarter that was started in May 202 and fully funded in less than 12 hours of launch... this collaboration via between iconic Chicago punk band Naked Raygun and indie comic artists James Romberger & Josh Bayer produced this gorgeous limited edition Broken Things 7” + comic book set. The b-side is etched artwork etched as well.
They pressed 500 in Opaque Pink (my version), 1000 in Opaque Blue, and others in standard black vinyl.
As for the comic, here is what the campaign noted: "James Romberger and Josh Bayer are collaborating on an original comic inspired by Broken Things. It's a visually-driven story drawing on the chaos of our times that unfolds in a sort of deconstructivist spiral. The artists are each working on separate sections of the same page, creating a call and response between them that is reminiscent of experimental comics team-ups like the infamous Kurtzman/Elder/Krigstein "Bringing Up Father" romp in Mad, underground jams like the ones in Zap and the raunchy Hama/Adams/Reese split story in Flo Steinberg's legendary Big Apple Comics.

We hinted at a Chicago release event a while back and WOW has it all come together…

•To answer your first question: no, the band is not playing. But every single one of them will be there, along with artist James Romberger, to sign your copies of the Broken Things record & comic. (Additional copies will be available for sale at the shop)

•Plus, our friends from will have a pop-up there featuring NR’s new Amishes single, NR shirts, and the full length Over the Overlords LP.

•Quimby’s, as you may know, is one of the greatest comic / book / zine shops in the USA and this event also falls on the birthday of store manager Liz Mason! Happy birthday, Liz!

•There is a rumor of some FREE S**T.

•There will be silkscreened event posters for sale featuring new James Romberger & Josh Bayers art.

•There is an official unofficial afterparty in the works.
