⭐ Track of the Week on MTR – Just After 1 PM Daily! ⭐
Our new Track of the Week is “The Sun Will Never Settle” by Kingfishr, a standalone single from the rising Irish trio.

📀 About the Artist
Kingfishr are a folk-rock band from Limerick, comprising Eddie Keogh, Eoin Fitzgibbon and Eoghan "McGoo" McGrath. The group has rapidly built a loyal following thanks to their blend of contemporary folk, atmospheric production and songs inspired by the landscapes and stories of Ireland.

📀 About the Track
“The Sun Will Never Settle” is a standalone single that showcases the band's knack for combining heartfelt lyrics with soaring melodies and rich instrumental textures. The song continues Kingfishr's exploration of themes such as belonging, change and connection, delivered with their distinctive modern folk sound.

📀 About the Release
Rather than appearing on an album, “The Sun Will Never Settle” was released as a standalone single, further building on the momentum Kingfishr have generated through extensive touring and a growing catalogue of well-received releases. The track highlights the band's ability to craft expansive, emotionally resonant songs while remaining rooted in their Irish folk influences.

Dear Mystery Train Radio Listener,

Over the past few weeks I've been making some behind-the-scenes improvements to the sound of 'Mystery Train Radio', and I wanted to let you know what's been happening.

I've introduced a new processing setup for the station audio which includes some gentle compression and overall sound balancing. The technology has improved significantly, and after experimenting with it over the last while, I'm really pleased with the results. The station now has a warmer, fuller and more consistent sound across programmes, music and presentation.

One of the biggest advantages is that it should greatly reduce the amount of manual audio levelling I've had to do in the past, while still keeping the natural feel and dynamics of the music intact.

You may also have noticed that I briefly introduced hourly news bulletins. The idea was to add another element to the station, but after receiving feedback from several listeners, I'm not entirely convinced that news updates are the right fit for 'Mystery Train Radio'.

A number of people told me they felt the news interrupted the flow of the music and the overall listening experience. For now, I've decided to pause the feature while I consider whether it has a place on the station in the future.

I'm still tweaking and fine-tuning things, so this feels like the perfect time to ask for your feedback.

I'd genuinely love to know:

• What do you think of the overall sound of the station now?
• Does the music feel clearer or more balanced?
• How do you feel about the addition of hourly news?
• Does the station still retain the "Mystery Train Radio" feel you enjoy?

Your comments and suggestions are incredibly valuable and really help shape the station going forward. Feel free to drop me a line at [email protected].

Thanks, as always, for listening and supporting 'Mystery Train Radio' :)

Best wishes,

Alex
