In our latest issue, staff writer Alicia Venter has a report on the Peoria Airpark preliminary economic impact assessment, which estimates the proposal could bring $1 billion in annual economic impact to the city, including nearly 8,000 jobs and over $60 million annuals in state and local taxes.

In other news, the city of Peoria and the Peoria Police Department cut the ribbon on its first helicopter, and the start of the Peoria Police and Fire Aviation Unit, a project that took $3.5 million in grant funding.
