'Life goes on flowing; life is something in between you and me. The tree goes on creating oxygen and you breathe it. If the trees disappear, you will disappear. The trees go on changing cosmic rays into food -- that is what fruit and vegetables are -- and if they disappear, you will be no more. They are constantly creating food for you, that's how you exist. Greenery is in a constant process of creating food for you; you depend on it.

The clouds go on moving, bringing water for you. The whole is connected. The faraway sun sends its rays to you and those rays are life. If the sun disappears, all life will disappear. Even the sun gets its energy from some source; scientists have not yet been able to find that source, but if that source disappears everything will disappear. Everything is related, joined together. This world does not exist in fragments, it exists as a whole, one whole.'

ایک دفعہ کا ذکر ہے ایک نامور آرٹسٹ اپنی ایک شاہکار پینٹنگ بنانے میں
مصروف تھا۔ پینٹنگ آخری مراحل میں تھی۔وہ پینٹنگ اُس کاایک نہایت ہی خوبصورت شاہکار تھی اور اس پینٹنگ کو وہ ملک کی شہزادی کو شادی کا تحفہ بنا کر پیش کرنا چاہتاتھا۔ ایک دن موسم بہت سُہانا تھا اور وہ مصور اپنے شاہکار نمونے کو لے کر ہوٹل کی بالکونی میں آ گیا تاکہ وہاں وہ اُس کو آخری بار دیکھ لے اور اُس کی مزید نوک پلک سنوار لے۔ آرٹسٹ اس پینٹنگ کو بنا کر بہت ہی خوش تھا اور وہ اسے بغور دیکھنے کیلئے چندقدم پیچھے چلا گیا۔ پیچھے جاتے ہوئے وہ پیچھے کی جانب نہیں دیکھ رہا تھا اور وہ مستقل پیچھے کی جانب بڑھتا رہا یہاں تک کہ وہ اُس لمبی عمارت کے بالکل کنارے تک پہنچ گیا۔ اب اگر وہ ایک قدم بھی اور پیچھے کی جانب بڑھاتا تو نیچے گِر کر مر جاتا۔ ایک آدمی دور سے اُس مصور کی حرکات کا بغور جائزہ لے رہا تھا۔ اُس نے آرٹسٹ کو آواز دینا چا ہی لیکن اچانک ہی اُسے خیال آیا کہ کہیں اُس کی آواز آرٹسٹ کو چونکا نہ دے اور یوںوہ ایک قد م اور پیچھے ہو کر نیچے ہی نہ گر جائے۔ یہی سوچ کر وہ شخص آواز دینے سے رُک گیا۔ کچھ سوچ کر اُس آدمی نے پینٹ کا بُرش اُٹھایا اور اُس خوبصورت پینٹنگ پر پھیرنا شروع کر دیا یہاں تک کہ وہ پینٹنگ مکمل طور پر تباہ ہو گئی۔ جب پینٹر نے یہ دیکھا ایک پاگل آدمی اُس کی خوبصورت تخلیق کے ساتھ کیا کر رہا ہے، اُس کی محنت ملیا میٹ ہو رہی ہے تو وہ اُس آدمی کی جانب اُس کو مارنے کیلئے بھاگالیکن وہاں موجود چند اور لوگوں نے اُس کو روک لیا اور اُس مصور کو وہ مقام دِکھایا جدھر وہ کھڑا تھا اور موت اُس سے محض ایک قدم کے فاصلے پر تھی۔ اگر وہ ایک بھی قدم پیچھے ہٹتا تو نہ وہ خود رہتا اور نہ اُس کا فن پارہ۔ ہم سب کی زندگی بھی اسی طرح ہوتی ہے ہم سب بھی ہمیشہ اسی طرح اپنا مستقبل انتہائی خوبصورت پینٹ کرتے ہیں ایک ایسا مستقبل جو ہمارا سب سے قیمتی خواب ہوتا ہے۔ جس کی تعبیر کے ساتھ ہم اپنی زندگی کی خوشیاں جوڑ دیتے ہیں لیکن اُس خواب کی تعبیر اچانک ہی بکھر جاتی ہے۔ ہم بہت آہ و فغاں کرتے ہیں، خود کوایک دم خالی ہاتھ محسوس کرتے ہیں، زندگی میں اندھیر ا سا چھا جاتا ہے اور ہم بہت شکوہ شکایت کرتے ہیں۔ ہمیں بہت غصہ آتا ہے لیکن اللہ تبارک تعالیٰ ہماری وہ پینٹنگ صرف اس وقت توڑتے ہیں جب وہ ہمیں کسی خطرے میں دیکھتے ہیں۔ وہ ہمیں محفوظ رکھنا چاہتے ہیں لیکن ایک بات ہمیشہ یاد رکھنی چایئے کہ اللہ نے ہمیں ُدنیا میں اپنا خلیفہ بنا کر بھیجا ہے، وہ اپنے بندوں سے بہت محبت کرتا ہے، وہ ہمیشہ اپنے بندوں کے لئے وہی منتخب کرتا ہے جو اُن کیلئے مناسب اور بہتر ہوتا ہے۔ ٭…٭…٭
