Third Beard Fishing Army Veteran, Fisherman, DIY Handyman, Adventurer, I’m Just an Army Veteran who suffered from depression and rarely left the house.

I became extremely unhealthy and gained a lot of weight, complete with copious amounts of low self esteem. Now I’m trying to get outside and find the joy in life again. From working on a project truck and fixing up the house, to fishing trips and traveling, and shooting and firearm builds, you’ll see all my adventures as I work to find myself again.

This is a large amount of the common fish that are caught in the Indian River Lagoon here in Florida!

From the Mangrove Snapper and Redfish, to the Tarpon and Bull Shark, there are so many species to catch here. I even included the dreaded Gafftopsail Catfish! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

20 years ago this year, as an 19 year old new soldier to Ft. Lewis, WA, I was assigned to battalion Mortar platoon, HHT, 2 squadron, 2nd Calvary Regiment. The unit was just starting up as a Stryker unit and we didn’t even have weapons yet.

There I met a group of guys that I didn’t realize would become my absolute family. We would sweat together, bleed together, and fight together. We trained for 2 1/2 years, re-flagged to HHC, 2nd Battalion 23rd Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division. Then we deployed to Iraq for 15 months.

We built a bond during that time that’s lasted through all these years and they are still my brothers.

This Veterans Day, I’m sitting on a plane heading back to Florida as I write this. I just spent the past 5 days with these guys at our annual reunion.

Heading to my annual Army platoon reunion!

We choose a new location each year! This year it’s being held in Arizona!

I’m excited to go there as I’ve never been. My Grandfather on my mother’s side is from there and I have extended family there as well.

Plus there is some cool wildlife there that’s not in Florida, so I have all my cameras and will be filming for my channel!

I’m going to try and do some fishing there too if we can find the time.

The amount of times I’ve lost a big Snook to Mangrove roots is terrible. 🤦🏻‍♂️

It’s so devastating for the few seconds you get to feel the fish pull drag, knowing you can’t stop it, and knowing it’s going to break you off.

It breaks your soul. 🤣
