Dahlia Films Dahlia Films is a cooperation between a disparate group of art criminals, composers, writers, idiots and passionate oddballs.

We began with ideas, something we are all born with and most of us leave behind in childhood. These ideas… these fleeting bursts of inspiration to something larger than ones self or even larger than the populace assembled come in random flashes or in deep streams of contemplative thought. The outside world plays at civility but the mind strays far from this world to a place where Walter Mitty carr

ies a gun and where every thought is a capitol crime. Our films exist in that hazy dawn between waking and dreaming, between birth and death and between inaction and sincerity. The twilight of the deepest love and the darkest hate where one finds ones self capable of things that we dare not speak of but secretly wish and pine for. To mine the depths of persona within and without is our goal and film is the medium chosen for us to exploit that which scares and appalls us along with that which touches us and reminds us of just what it means to be human.

We've been out of the labs and having some fun(?) recreating crime scene photographs from the long past... Never sit still, more to come... Enjoy...

This picture to me represents the ultimate afterparty, in the afterlife and the afterworld... After the last drink is drunk and after the last breath is exhausted... What is left is a testament to impermanence. We are forever burned onto photographic celluloid or digital sensor, in memory or amongst the innumerable forgotten, in death as in life; inconsequential.

Of all the wonderful things we build at the Nevertold Industrial Complex©™... It is always the small things that amuse and amaze me. I'm working on a stand-alone hypodermic needle where, without piercing actual actor skin, blood shoots into the barrel and when the tied off arm is released the hypo empties itself into said arm. I guess this explanation does not suffice but still, the cinematic chicanery never stops at Nevertold.

The AT Video is in the can not a moment too soon. We ended not with a bang but with a whimper. No fanfare, no hearty handshakes but we walked away amicable no less and triumphant in our endeavor. Now on to the edit and onto the trailer for 'Hotel'... Lather, rinse, repeat... Good show everyone and thank you all. Too excited to sleep,off to review raw footage. XO ~JB~

We just wrapped two full nights of filming on the AT video.... and 44 seconds of a music video in the can. Is anything less efficient than film making? I just watched a woman sprint across a parking lot and easily bound over a traffic barrier with a single leap in order to put her handicapped placard on her car before the parking cop got up to it. It really makes me feel bad for unfortunates such as her and more than a little Ill for humanity at large...

dunno why things always end up this way but after our experiment ended the checks started coming.
