Six years and half ago, I had the privilege to spend an afternoon with one of the greatest heroes of Jamaican music, Sir Ernest Ranglin OD. He welcomed me into his house and we recorded lead guitars on two instrumental songs as part of my ROOTS ARCHITECTS project. The first song is out today on all streaming platforms and on 7" vinyl. It’s called ‘MEMORIES OF OLD’ and features more Jamaican heroes: Fil Callender (drums), Jackie Jackson (bass), Winston Bo P*e Bowen (guitar), Bongo Joe (kette), Tyrone Downie (organ), Vin Gordon (trombone), Glen DaCosta (sax), Lew Chang (flute) and Sting Wray (trumpet). I played the piano and Josu Santamaria overdubbed a pick guitar. Four of these legends passed away before they got the chance to listen to the final song, I hope they’d love how it sounds. The Roots Architects project is an tribute to the unsung heroes of Jamaican music and the full album will come out in April 2024.

Here we are, last release of 2023 on Fruits Records. It has been a busy year again with 9 new records, thank you all for your support!

We’re very happy to announce this next release! coming right in time to brighten up your Xmas celebrations with its new single XMAS SKA. B side is the instrumental version XMAS HORNS. This is a co-production with whose taking care of the distribution. Mixed by the master in 60s fashion.

It is with heavy hearts that we learned the passing of Michael "Ibo" Cooper. We will be forever grateful for the time we shared back in 2017 when recording the Roots Architects project. Having him part of it was such an honor. To me, Ibo was the most inspired reggae keyboardist ever. Thank you maestro, your music will live on!

Retrospective 04/50 | I Kong - Pass It On

'Pass It On' is the second album we made with during his stay in Geneva in the summer 2015. We spent a month on tour and then a month in our studio, writing and composing this music together with from scratch. It was truly an amazing experience to write songs with I Kong and not only to voice a singer on a riddim we had made. This sharing led to a more sophisticated album than 'A Little Walk', that we found better at that time, from a musician perspective. I Kong also brought in connections with legends and / Mixed once again by the great 💥

We still have a very few LPs left and you can listen to this great album on all streaming platforms.

Retrospective 03/50 | The Inspirators

Second album released on Fruits Records, this project was actually recorded in February-March 2013, a year and half before I Kong’s 'A Little Walk'. The Inspirators is an all star project gathering four legends from the golden years of reggae as a supergroup: Leroy "Horsemouth" Wallace on drums, percussion and vocals, Lloyd Parks on bass and vocals, Earl "Chinna" Smith on guitars and vocals, and Anthony "Sangie" Davis on vocals.
