A little-known state statute makes groups like the Manatee County Republican Liberty Caucus and its statewide mothership group, the Republican Liberty Caucus of Florida, illegal.

Florida State Statute 103.081 clearly makes the use of the name Republican illegal unless expressly authorized by the Florida Chairman of the Republican Party, Christian Zeigler.

As of today, Mr. Zeigler has not authorized the so-called “Liberty” caucus to use the name Republican, putting the rogue group’s name in legal jeopardy.
