Leigh Leopards playmaker and former Sydney Roosters Lachlan Lam is set to return to the NRL.
That is according to his dad and Leopards coach Adrian Lam, who stated after his side’s elimination final loss to Hull KR that his son will only be at Leigh “for a short time” in order to prepare for a return to the NRL.
Lam has been outstanding for the Leopards this year. He kicked the game winning field goal in the Challenge Cup final against Hull KR and in their first season back in the Super League, guided the Leopards to a finals berth.
The Papua New Guinea international has received interest from the Canberra Raiders, who need a playmaker to fill the void of outgoing star Jack Wighton.
Lam played 31 games for the Roosters from 2019-2021 and has made seven international appearances for the PNG LNG Kumuls.
