SJRA performs invasive species inspections when notified by local marinas before a vessel can enter Lake Conroe. If zebra mussels or quagga mussels are found, SJRA and Texas Parks and Wildlife work on the decontamination procedure which is then the boat owners responsibility to take care of. SJRA performs a follow up inspection prior to the boat entering the lake. We love working for your water!

Just after 3 pm Montgomery County Precinct 1 Lake Patrol responded to an area near Ayers Island for a reported drowning. Lake Conroe Fishing Report 6/15/22

Lake Conroe is at 200.67 ft msl, or less than ½ ft below full pool. The water temperature is ranging between 86 degrees in the morning, to 92 degrees in the afternoon. The days are hot and the fish are still making the move offshore. The fish are setting up in full summertime patterns in some areas, while other areas have not quite made it all the way out. Fishing can be hit or miss, and it is very area dependent. Some days we are having really good catches, while others can be very tough. We are seeing quite a few suspended fish, which can be very difficult to target. We are catching most of our fish on Carolina rigged baby brush hogs, swim baits and shaky head trick worms. There are some very good catches coming in local tournaments, but for the most part, Lake Conroe has not quite reached it’s full summertime potential. It won’t be long now until the lake is in full summertime mode, and the offshore bite will be on fire.

Earlier today Pct. 1 Deputies with the Marine Div assisted with a vehicle in the water near the EZ Boat Storage on FM 1097. Minor injuries were reported and the vehicle has been removed from the water. Remember to wear your life jackets and be sensible and safe!
