I'm not lying when I say that doing the monthly record label spotlight has become my favorite episode.

So it's a little strange that I managed to miss three whole months of them. Oh well. What are these self-imposed rules I made up for anyhow?

This year, I spoke to nine cool-as-hell dudes who run nine cool-as-hell labels. There are always so many cool conversations that come from these chats. We do the general label history, highlight important releases, and usually find a tangent or few to go on about as well.

The work that goes into running an independent record label is always fueled by passion. That's the case no matter the chosen genre.

I think what I like so much about these conversations is that I tend to feel like I'm making friends. Often when talking to band people, they're quickly moving on to another scheduled interview with another schmuck on Zoom. The nature of the type of person who is behind a record label is someone who wants to share what they love and I appreciate that!

Thanks to those who joined me and those who listened. I hope you found something new to enjoy in 2024.
