Dax I was 23 years old when I wrote my first poem. Up until then I had dedicated my entire existence to basketball. At that time I was at my 3rd College in 3 years. The NBA dream was fading and reality had hit me like a truck. Basketball was a form of expression but it also sometimes felt like a prison. That first poem I wrote felt like complete freedom. My destiny was in my hands in the form of a PEN and my own blood was the ink. Bleeding on every page felt like a small price to pay.
