As the government continues to provide aid to Filipinos amidst the effects of the El Niño phenomenon in the country, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. personally leads the provision of various assistance to farmers, fisherfolk and families in a ceremonial distribution in the Municipality of Isulan, Sultan Kudarat on May 10, 2024.
Different agencies and departments, including the Department of Agriculture (DA), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), and Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) convene during the event to highlight the Administration’s efforts in promoting a whole-of-government approach towards addressing current issues across the nation.
Among the assistance for distribution are cash assistance to farmers and fisherfolk from DSWD; cash assistance from the DOLE’s Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD); and agricultural assistance under the DA’s Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) and Rice Farmer Financial Assistance (RFFA).
Likewise, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) provides various grant certificates to farmers’ organizations while the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) distributes livelihood toolkits and scholarship allowance to its regional office on Sultan Kudarat.
The Office of House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez also hands out sacks of rice to each of the beneficiaries.
