This year, we were offered the opportunity to work with a band we had quietly been fans of for years.

In February, Donaher released GRAVITY AND THE STARS ABOVE, and that was it—we had to reach out and figure out a way to work with them. The timing was right: While they were waiting for vinyl to press, we put together a cassette release like nothing we’ve done before.

We’re not a big label. We can only release a handful of albums each year, so we choose to work with artists we respect who play music we adore.

Kevin Day (from Aspiga and Part-Time PR) is an artist we respect, and he writes music we adore. Like a good cup of coffee, his songs for Graduation Speech are addictive and darkly complex and sweet in a way you wouldn’t expect. The musicians he has tapped to fill out Graduation Speech’s full band only makes us more excited about what’s next.

This year has been sort of low key for our label, but we’re really proud of the release we’ve put out.

In 2022, we released RUNNER, the last in a series of three self-titled EPs from Broken Field Runner, and some of the band’s best material to date.
