Old Time Fiddle Weekend

The Arkansas State Fiddle Championship is coming up August 11-13, and deadline for discount registration for Dan Levenson's workshop is this Friday!

Old Time Fiddle Weekend at the Ozark Folk Center State Park includes a workshop and two full days of fiddle contests for the official Arkansas State Fiddle Championship.

This fiddling-packed weekend begins with a workshop on Thursday, August 11. Finessing your Fiddling, taught by Dan Levenson.
10:00am - 4:00pm
$50 if registered by July 29 or $75 after that date.

The official Arkansas State Fiddle Championships begin on Friday, August 12 at 10:30. Contestants in four age groups will compete on Friday for the Traditional Old-Time Competition. Contestants will compete on Saturday, August 13 for the Contemporary Style Competition. The doors to the Music Theater will open each day at 9:00am. Admission to sit in the audience is free during the day. Regular ticket prices apply for the evening shows.

Special guest performers during the Friday and Saturday evening shows include Dan Levenson (clawdan.com) and Billy Mathews (www.banjobilly.net) Entry to the Music Theater for the evening shows requires a Music Ticket which may be purchased at the door. Season Passes will be honored.

Clancey Ferguson has won the Junior Division of the Contemporary contest at the Arkansas State Fiddle Championship, for the past two years.

Rumor has it that Violet might possibly play at Friday night's show, 21 August, with Betse Ellis, too.

Thanks to the for the great right up from my appearance July 10 at ! It was such an honor to get to play with Ms. Violet Hensley once again!
