A work of transformation, a performance, a circular creative action that starts from a pre-existing book, involves the artist (who transforms it and leaves it in a place he/she feels is suitable), the person who finds it and that, in the best of hypothesis, will seek the author. We assume that a book can reach anyone and that everybody possesses some…. More or less frequently one happens to go int
o a bookshop, a bookstore or to stop in those second-hand book stalls: this for example could be a place where one could leave a new message. Not to mention benches in parks, bus stops, underground seats, bars…. So places where books are used and consumed, which are involved in an act of rightful re-appropriation, outside the rules of the current market, of passive consumption, as well as a new visibility and a new channel for spreading one’s creative and artistic work. This action requires ideas, messages, fantasy, creativity and movement whether you are painters, illustrators, photographers, sculptors, musicians…or simply creative people. The type or contents of the book is not important: but what becomes interesting is the very process with which an X book becomes something unique that it can be left in the hands of events that unfold, in a chosen place that is suitable for it to meet its “public”, otherwise hard to find following the standard ways of art.
