Press release from Mitch McConnell: “President Trump made another impressive selection by nominating Rebecca Grady Jennings, of Louisville, to serve as a district judge for the Western District of Kentucky. Rebecca is an award-winning litigator with a deep knowledge of the law and her community. She will use her skills to serve the people of Kentucky well on the federal bench, and I look forward to the Senate confirming her nomination.”

Majority Leader McConnell’s Statement on Senator Jeff Sessions
‘I strongly support the President-elect’s intention to nominate Senator Jeff Sessions to be the next United States Attorney General. Jeff is principled, forthright, and hardworking. He cares deeply about his country and the Department he will be nominated to lead.’

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell released the following statement regarding President-elect Trump’s intention to nominate Senator Jeff Sessions for United State Attorney General:

“I strongly support the President-elect’s intention to nominate Senator Jeff Sessions to be the next United States Attorney General. Jeff is principled, forthright, and hardworking. He cares deeply about his country and the Department he will be nominated to lead. As a senator, he has worked tirelessly to safeguard the public and to improve the lives of Americans from all walks of life. Whether it was collaborating with our colleague Senator Durbin to reduce sentencing disparities for certain drug offenses, teaming up with the late Senator Ted Kennedy on landmark legislation to combat sexual assault in prison, or his many other achievements, Jeff has always looked out for the safety, security and freedoms of his constituents and the nation.

“I look forward to the Senate’s fair and expeditious treatment of our colleague’s forthcoming nomination, just as it promptly processed President Obama’s first Attorney General nomination, which concluded with a timely up or down vote.”

Senator McConnell Comments on Kentucky Election Results
WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell released the following statement tonight regarding the elections in Kentucky:
“Tonight is a great night for the Commonwealth of Kentucky. I want to congratulate my friend and Senate colleague, Rand Paul, for his resounding victory. I congratulate all of my Republican Congressional colleagues for their victories across the state, and I'm pleased to welcome Jamie Comer, the newest member of Kentucky's Congressional Delegation. In a particular way, I want to thank our many talented Kentucky state House and Senate Republican candidates.
“Until tonight, Kentucky was the last state in the South with at least one legislative chamber under Democratic control. No longer. By winning the state House, and holding onto the state Senate, a Republican state legislature can work with Governor Bevin to truly move our state forward and enact many long-needed, common-sense reforms that will greatly benefit all Kentuckians. This is a historic win that will soon be felt throughout the Bluegrass State.”

Today marks an important victory for the rule of law in Kentucky. We are pleased by the Court’s recognition that an unlicensed abortion clinic is prohibited from performing abortions.

This has been our administration’s stance from the beginning. This is the right and necessary ruling to ensure that the health and safety of women are protected.

As the order states, “long before the Cabinet initiated this suit, the Commonwealth, through its elected representatives, determined that all abortion facilities should be licensed.”

Disney: No Princess for Queen Elsa

Disney: No Princess for Queen Elsa

Join us in standing against the absurd “movement” to turn Queen Elsa of Frozen into a le***an during the 2018 sequel, “Frozen 2.” We’re suggesting a much better idea… An idea that promotes solid family values to our children and represents the natural family. Sign our petition, now, to Disney asking...

In response to President Obama's proposed bathroom rules for public schools...

It is difficult to imagine a more absurd federal overreach into a local issue. Under the Tenth Amendment to the United States Constitution, the federal government has no authority to interfere in local school districts' bathroom policies.

The President is not promoting unity. In fact, he is doing quite the opposite. He is intentionally dividing America by threatening to sue or withhold funding from our cash-strapped public schools if they do not agree with his personal opinion on policies that remain squarely in their jurisdiction. They should not feel compelled to bow to such intimidation.

My administration is researching the options available for ensuring that this local issue is decided by Kentuckians, not by bureaucrats in Washington.
