In 1997, Francis Ford Coppola launched Zoetrope: All-Story, a quarterly magazine devoted to the best new short fiction and one-act plays. It has received every major story award, including the National Magazine Award for Fiction, while publishing today's most promising and significant writers: Tommy Orange, Karen Russell, Mary Gaitskill, David Mamet, Ha Jin, Elizabeth McCracken, Yiyun Li, Don DeLi

llo, Andrew Sean Greer, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Margaret Atwood, Salman Rushdie, Lena Dunham, Yoko Ogawa, David Means, Susan Straight, Charles D'Ambrosio, David Bezmozgis, Neil Jordan, and Haruki Murakami among them. Zoetrope: All-Story is also an art magazine, as the editors invite a different contemporary artist to illustrate and design each issue. Past guest designers include Jim Jarmusch, Agnes Varda, Nick Cave, William Eggleston, Zaha Hadid, Kara Walker, Julian Schnabel, Wim Wenders, Laurie Anderson, Peter Sellars, Helmut Newton, Kelly Reichardt, David Bowie, Gus Van Sant, Tom Waits, Ed Ruscha, David Byrne, Kiki Smith, Wayne Thiebaud, Chip Kidd, PJ Harvey, Iggy Pop, Yves Béhar, and Mike Figgis.

Posted • Dearest Kate Mulleavy It was your birthday two days ago. It takes some quiet to reflect on almost a decade of documenting you and your sister. You became my muses after five minutes into our first conversation and it has been an honor to document your genius as , as visual poets, as storytellers and film directors in . But along the way we became family and you talked to me through my lens like it was my eyes and heart… which it is. You got me and I got you, so I will love you forever.

Thanks for the shoutout ! 😍 ❤️❤️Posted • Officially —if super belatedly— smitten with the Summer 2024 issue of guest-designed by It’s bonkers how late I am to this party 😳! Embarrassing, really. But *finally* dove in and gotta say it’s pitch perfect in every way from Jang’s riveting images right down to the sans serif typeface (Helvetica methinks?) Bravo!!🤩 ❤️👏👏👏 Oh yeah and I loved the stories (um, it’s a literary fiction mag). I can’t forget to carve more time out for the joy-inducing stuff in life. Another gorgeous issue, and Michael! ❤️🎉🍾

“All the things that led to this exact moment” Jeffrey Gibson stitched the words on a ceremonial gown made of heavy red and white silk for me to wear. His exhibition is generous, dancing in color fields, acknowledging the legacy of Leigh Bowery, circling meaning and laying out context for understanding such vigorous, Power Full expression, the rising essense of femininity that burns in the heartfire of many q***r communities.
