UPDATE: The alarm that went off earlier this evening at Carroll Community College has been confirmed by Officer Don Conrad of the CCC security staff as a faulty smoke alarm going off.
"The sensor went bad," Officer Conrad said. "We evacuated the building like protocol and the fire department personnel came out to the scene. They gave us the all clear when we could come in, and everything was reset."
Students and staff returned to the buildings around 8:30pm to resume night classes and activities.

The fire alarms at Carroll Community College (CCC) were set off shortly after 7:40pm on September 15. Westminster Fire Department responders arrived at the scene a few minutes later. At 8:02pm Officer Jessup of the CCC security staff said the reason behind the alarms going off was unknown. More to come as events develop.
