Public speakers don’t just sit down and crush podcasts. I know some of your favorite public speakers that are so used to delivering on a stage that they can’t sit and talk as if they were having a normal conversation.

AND THAT’S FINE. If you’re not ready for video, go audio only and build that podcast host muscle at a pace that works for you.

Pause and read this post before you beg your listeners to leave your podcast a rating and review. Because if you think those two things will help your show get bumped up the iTunes chart and bring you more listeners, you’re wrong.

When you’re in a sales conversation, cut to the chase and bring up pricing EARLY.

As an entrepreneur, you’re NOT supposed to run after a “yes” from a prospect. You need to uncover a “no” as early as possible. This will save you a lot of time from dealing with a someone whose budget is way below your asking price.

In case you didn’t know, you can’t just use any music for your podcast. Using copyrighted music without permission can get your show taken off the platform. That’s months of planning and hard work down the drain. And it’s not worth the risk.

Check out these 5 free resources to access some of the best royalty-free music for podcasts. These have diverse libraries to cater to your show’s atmosphere.

Stating your “WHY” gives your audience a way to connect with you. If you have a clear “WHY” that resonates with them, they’re going to listen to you.

But it’s not enough to get people’s attention. You also need to share your “HOW.” Teach them what you know. Help them improve their skills. Give them new information.

Your “HOW” adds VALUE to their lives. And value is essentially what’s going to keep your audience loyal to you.

So what’s your “HOW”? Comment them down below!

If you’re someone who just started their podcast, listen up.

At some point you will lose your motivation and excitement for your podcast. But that’s not a valid reason for you to drop your show and to leave your listeners hanging. Not unless your show is designed to end early.

Most leaders I worked with in my civilian jobs probably hated me.

When you don’t like what you’re doing…

When you don’t believe in what you’re doing …

When you don’t know your purpose …

… it catches up with you. And if you’re anything like I used to be it takes on the form of ambivalent behavior.

Mix that up with some negativity, resentment, self discouragement … shake it up real nice - and you become the employee or person no one wants to be around.

Except other toxic people of course.

If you need to check yourself today’s podcast is for you.

Forget elevator pitches. No one actually wins over their ideal client or lands their dream job in an elevator.

Instead, focus more on content creation. You are more likely going to attract your ideal clients or employers when you post valuable, relatable, and relevant content about your brand.

So ditch the pitch and get started on your content strategy right now.

Coming up with a podcast topic is HARD. Especially when you will create 100 (or 200 😎) episodes around that topic.

There are great podcast ideas, and then there are straight-up garbage ones. This post is filled with the former. Or at least will help you come up with your own topic.

I know how challenging it is to start a business in your 40’s. One day it’s smooth sailing, the next day you’re physically, mentally, and emotionally exhausted.

Looking back, I wouldn’t have acquired some of the skills I have now if not for the adversities I faced as a midlife entrepreneur.

Growth isn’t always easy, but it’ll always be worth it.

Launching a podcast with only one recorded episode is like releasing a book with just one chapter… Why the f**k would you do that!?

Part of your launch plan is having at least 8 episodes ready. Regardless of your posting schedule, it’s better to start with more than 1 episode so that your audience will get hooked sooner.

I know, I know. It’s a lot of work for just launching a show. But that’s part of the whole podcasting process. It takes a lot of time, effort and commitment.

How’s your podcast launch plan coming along? Let me know in the comments below!

While it is true that people do listen to podcasts posted on YouTube, they're just a tiny fraction of the YouTube community.

Your best bet is to hire a “skimmer” to pick out 10 minutes of the best possible parts of the podcast episodes.

And don’t just leave it at that. Make it sexier with b-rolls, pictures, GIFs, etc. This may help build your YouTube audience a bit BUT very likely will not make a difference in your podcast numbers.

So will you start a YouTube channel for your podcast? Comment your answers down below!

Speaking as both a podcast host and a podcast listener, I usually default to Apple for no other reason than they were always the primary podcast app. However, Spotify has made a big push in podcasting to include video podcasting for select hosts like their unicorn Joe Rogan

Apple still has the market share, but everyone is clawing at their feet.
