During the 2nd Flag Raising Ceremony in WPU-PPC Campus, November 07, 2023, hosted by College of Public Administration and Management.
The highlights of the ceremony includes the presence of Atty. Joselito Alisuag, announcement of the winners of the recently concluded University Olympics wherein College of Criminal Justice Education emerged as champion and the Grand Opening of the National book week Celebration. .

University Olympics 2023 kicks off

Western Philippines University—Puerto Princesa City Campus formally opens the 2023 University Olympics with the theme
"Sports and Cultural Excellence Through Teamwork, Camaraderie, and Winning mindset" on October 24, 2023 at Ramon V. Mitra Sports Complex, Puerto Princesa City.

Faculty and Staff as well as students of competing teams from respective colleges enter the Sports Complex in their colorful uniforms and mascots led by Sta. Monica High School Drum and Lyre Corp during the parade in the morning.

The opening ceremony starts with the singing of the National Anthem, opening remarks given by Ma'am Ma. Lourdes Marzo, the Vice President for Academic Affairs, a message from the OIC President, Atty. Joselito Alisuag, presentation of the competing teams, oath of the athletes and lightning of the torch.

Other highlights of the opening ceremony are the Banner Raising contest, showdown of mascots from competing teams, as well as yell and street dance competition.

Prior to this, the Culture and Arts festival happened yesterday at the WPU PPC Campus Library .The said University Olympics is set to date from October 23-26, 2023. There are still more events and happenings to look forward to in the coming days.
