Founder of the culture blog Beats and Breath (beatsandbreath.com), Allers has spent the better part of 20 years writing about hip-hop culture and organizing events with the legends of hip-hop and their predecessors in the world of jazz and world music. For the last 6 years he's been based in Beirut, Lebanon where he has been documenting the rise of the Arab hip-hop movement. He is currently writing a book about Arab hip-hop culture and continues to write about the intersections of culture and politics for sources like Rolling Stone Magazine and The National.
