Quinntessentials Season 4 Episode 3 — Twin Fantasy by Car Seat Headrest feat. Daniel Cox

Car Seat Headrest?
Car Seat Headrest!

I recorded this back in like February, but I didn't think the world was ready for it. Now that we are well into April, I think it's time.

I'm joined by my boy Daniel Cox to talk about one of the best indie rock records of the year, that kinda really came out in 2011. It's complicated, just listen and we'll explain.

A month and a half after it was supposed to be edited, I finally got around to editing this episode. It's definitely one worth waiting for, with all-star guest Daniel Cox talking about the best indie re-release of 2018 (which isn't a super glamorous title, but it's actually really great!).

Quinntessentials Season 4 Episode 1 — Oxnard by Anderson .Paak

We're back! To kick things off, I'm talking about my favourite albums from 2018, and I'm starting things off with Oxnard by Anderson .Paak — a divisive album that I've really grown to love, despite its flaws.

https://www.mixcloud.com/belfieldfm/quinntessentials-season-4-episode-1-oxnard-by-anderson-paak/

This week I'm kicking off the season with a divisive album by one of my favourite recent artists, Anderson .Paak. Oxnard was a decisive album with lots of tracks that split the community. This week, I'm talking about it.

Me And My Friends FM

Soooo...

I'm putting Quinntessentials on hiatus for the time being and I'm giving this new concept a go. Every week I'm joined by someone new, to talk about and listen to the music that's important to them.

I might come back to Quinntessentials next year, but for now, the page below is where to follow my radio shenanigans. Oh and this one is a proper podcast now, so you can listen in all the podcasts apps (which I think is really cool).

ty 💕

I should've posted this a week ago, but my new show is finally live! Every week I invite someone on to talk about the music that's important to them. In the first episode, I was joined by Euan Lindsay and his very varied playlist, including Led Zeppelin, Nirvana and The Beegees. I know, that's a real mixture of sounds, but I think we pull it all together nicely.

Quinntessentials Season 2 Episode 9 - Process by Sampha (feat. Brian Lenihan & Matthew O Leary)

Season finale already? Yep.

This is the last episode until September, and there's no better way to end it than with my favourite album from last year - Process by Sampha. Thanks to Brian Lenihan and Matthew O Leary for joining me on the shortest possible notice, and to everyone who joined me throughout the last eight months as well as all the Belfield FM crew. Sounds from a Green Room

I had the pleasure of coming on Seán's show earlier this year, and he is an absolute master of radio - check out the last episode of his amazing Irish-music focused show now, live on Belfield FM: http://www.belfieldfm.com/html/player.html 🔥

Monday at 5pm marks our final show. By 6pm tomorrow Sounds from a Green Room will be no more, so tune in for one last time as I interview Buffalo Woman and play some of the songs that have meant the most to me for the past three years. Expect music from Girl Band, spies, Rusangano Family, Sorcha Richardson, Róisín Murphy and as much more as I can fit in. It's a sad one but it'll be a good one. For one last time, listen, like and share as usual! Let's actually get a decent amount of live listeners for the last one!

Quinntessentials Season 2 Episode 7 - Underrated Albums

Changed things up this week - instead of covering an album, I talked about my favourite underrated albums from last year. It's a mix of hip-hop, rock and electronic this week, featuring music by Remo Drive, L'Orange, Joseph Chilliams, NxWorries (Knxwledge & Anderson .Paak), IGLOOGHOST, Ape Rising, Girls Who Care and Kelechi. If you want some new music and to be cooler than all of your friends, this is the episode for you.

https://www.mixcloud.com/belfieldfm/quinntessentials-season-2-episode-7-underrated-albums/

I've too many albums and not enough weeks, so I'm taking the next few weeks to cover as many albums as possible. This weeks the topic is underrated albums from last year. It's a mix of hip-hop, indie rock and some electronic stuff - if you want some new music, check this out pls

Quinntessentials Season 2 Episode 6 - Melodrama by Lorde (feat. Claire Marcus)

We’re finally back after mid term! Last week I was joined by Claire Marcus to tackle the show's first pop album - Melodrama by Lorde. It's great, you really should listen to it! https://mixcloud.com/belfieldfm/quinntessentials-season-2-episode-6-melodrama-by-lorde-feat-claire-marcus/

After a year of hip-hop and rock, I'm finally covering some pop on this show, and there's no better place to start than with Melodrama by Lorde. I'm joined this week by Claire Marcus who knows way too much about her, to the point where it's kinda scary. (Pls ignore the technical difficulties ty xx)

Quinntessentials Season 2 Episode 5 - Big Fish Theory by Vince Staples (feat. Mark Guilfoyle)

After a bit of a snow break, I'm back with the last hip-hop album I'll be covering this season.

I'm joined by Mark Guilfoyle to talk about Big Fish Theory by Vince Staples - the most innovative and creative hip-hop album I heard all year.

https://www.mixcloud.com/belfieldfm/quinntessentials-season-2-episode-5-big-fish-theory-by-vince-staples-feat-mark-guilfoyle/

The last hip-hop album I'm covering this season is the most innovative album I've listened to all year. It's class.

Quinntessentials Season 2 Episode 4 - Saturation I/II/III by Brockhampton (feat. Daniel Cox)

BROCKHAMPTON released three albums last year - all of them are so amazing that I cheated and talked about all three albums from the Saturation trilogy.

I'm joined this week by Daniel Cox, so you can thank him for the High Quality Music Discussion™

https://www.mixcloud.com/belfieldfm/quinntessentials-season-2-episode-4-saturation-trilogy-by-brockhampton-feat-daniel-cox/

Quinntessentials Season 2 Episode 2 - Pure Comedy by Father John Misty

This week on Belfield FM I talked about Pure Comedy by Father John Misty - it's a pretty chill episode because I was (and still am) very, very tired. If you want some laid-back, sarcastic indie folk, this episode is definitely for you.

https://www.mixcloud.com/belfieldfm/quinntessentials-season-2-episode-2-pure-comedy-by-father-john-misty/

This week I'm talking about my favourite indie record of the year. It's a very chill episode (with no guests 😨). I was very sleepy, so the music is pretty fitting. In a good way. Tracklist because Mixcloud is being weird: Pure Comedy - 06:45 Total Entertainment Forever - 16:07 Things It Would Hav...

Quinntessentials Season 2 Episode 1 - Flower Boy by Tyler, the Creator (feat. Euan Lindsay)

Last week we released the first episode of Season 2 - a season showcasing my favourite albums of 2017. I talked about Tyler, the Creator's Flower Boy with long-time Odd Future fan Euan Lindsay. (We mostly went on long tangents tho)

https://www.mixcloud.com/belfieldfm/quinntessentials-season-2-episode-1-flower-boy-by-tyler-the-creator-feat-euan-lindsay

To start of the new season, we're talking about one of the most surprising albums of 2017 for me, in an episode with too many tangents for our own good
