Hey, there! Feeling anxious? This might help:
(1) There have been no polling moves of any significance in the last few days. Ignore any articles that claim it. Biden is in the strongest position from a polling standpoint of any candidate since Clinton in 1996. He's very likely to win on election night.
(2) Democrats are heavily favored to win the Senate. Nothing has changed there. We are keeping the House - that's a lock.
(3) The Democrats are fully ready to take on any legal challenges that are thrown at that. Our leaders have gamed out every single scenario and spent hundreds of millions of dollars preparing massive legal teams in every state. No joke - the republicans will NOT be able to steal this election in the Courts.
(4) With 100 million votes already cast, and a massive amount of them on paper, and dozens of different voting systems, and an FBI (at the state level) expecting a cyber attack, it would be very difficult for the Russians to disrupt the election in this manner.
(5) Yes, there will be a lot of angry, armed people when the thing loses. This is America - there are always armed, angry people. What are they going to do, exactly? How would one prepare for an onslaught of older white men being angry? There will be a lot more jubilant people celebrating. Can't worry about this one.
So... keep phone and text banking and do whatever you need to do to grind through the next four days. We're almost there.

Este viernes 23 tendremos el honor de escuchar uno de los contrabajos más legendarios en las últimas 4 décadas: EDDIE GÓMEZ TRÍO!
El impresionante currículum del maestro Eddie Gómez incluye performances con gigantes del jazz como: Miles Davis, Dizzy Gillespie, Bill Evans, Gerry Mulligan, Benny Goodman, Charles Mingus y Chick Corea entre muchos más. El sonido y estilo único de Eddie Gómez puede ser escuchado en diversas producciones ganadoras de Grammys, así como en cientos de grabaciones del mundo del jazz, música clásica, latín jazz, R&B, y música popular y contemporánea en general.
Este concierto de jazz es un regalo de aniversario que nos estamos dando, y queremos de corazón compartirlo con todos ustedes. No se da muy seguido la posibilidad de ver y escuchar tan cerca a un gigante de la música en el mundo.
Este evento será de 10pm a 11.30pm y a partir de la medianoche arrancamos con nuestro rock and roll habitual, con el homenaje de Materia Dispuesta al rock clásico de los 70’s.

EDDIE GÓMEZ BIOGRAFÍA
Nacido en Santurce, Puerto Rico en 1944 y con residencia en New York desde temprana edad, cerca de Harlem, estudia contrabajo a partir de 1955, participando varios años en la Newport Festival Youth Band, orquesta de jóvenes bajo la dirección de Marshall Brown. En 1963 pasa a la Julliard School of Music, y un par de años después forma parte del trío de Marian McPartland, después trabaja con Paul Bley, Gerry Mulligan y Jim Hall.
Bill Evans le propone trabajar con él tras coincidir en el Village Vanguard (1966), una colaboración que se extenderá hasta 1977, lo que no le impide hacer colaboraciones con otras grandes figuras del jazz: Miles Davis, Steve Gadd, Lee Konitz, Jay McShann, el flautista Jeremy Steig (n. 1942), el trombonista alemán Albert Magelsdorff (n. 1928), etc. Una vez finalizada su etapa con Evans, Eddie Gómez trabajará con Charles Mingus y Chick Corea, además de realizar diversos trabajos en Europa.
Durante la década de los 80, Gómez trabaja básicamente como músico de estudio y con Steps Ahead, grupo de jazz fusión del que fue cofundador. El primer disco a su nombre aparece en 1984, y dos años más tarde abandona a los Steps, para tocar con Randy Brecker, Eliane Elias, Lew Soloff y Michel Petrucciani.
A partir de los años 90, Gómez vuelve varias veces a Puerto Rico y realiza giras por todo el mundo con sus propias formaciones. Actualmente es artista en residencia en el Conservatorio de Música de Puerto Rico y hace giras y colaboraciones por el mundo.
