III El Intercambio Battle of the Bands Entry Regulations and Requirements:
The EL Intercambio Battle of the Bands 2013 will be held at Louie Louie's Rock’n’Roll Bar, Estepona Port on Saturday, October 12, from 8 pm til 2 am. A band is defined by us as consisting of 2 or more members who perform and play instruments (as opposed to performing over backing tracks). All bands are welcome to enter reg
ardless of genre. There will be a maximum of nine bands able to perform on the night so if oversubscribed all bands will go through a pre selection process by the judges prior to the event. Once selected to perform on the night Bands must play two songs, one cover version and one original. Six copies of the lyrics for the original piece must be submitted to the judging panel one week before the performance. Each act will be judged on the following points:
- Songwriting
- Musical accomplishment
- Stage presence/performance
- Originality for the original piece and interpretation for the cover song
- Audience reaction
The jury will be comprised of a number of judges from the local music scene. Curro Montero from Louie Louie’s, Estepona

The event will be streamed live and recorded for posterity by Andrew Charles from Castle radio FM. Entries must be submitted by midnight on Friday, October 4. There is no entry fee for members of the bands. Prizes include:
300 euros cash first prize
Possible additional cash prizes TBC
Supporting gig for an International act at the Louie Louie's Rock’n’Roll Bar
Gig at The Rock on The Rock Club
Day in a recording studio (to be confirmed)

A full PA, backline and sound engineer will be provided by the organisers. Bands must bring their own instruments. If the bands have any additional requirements please notify the organisers and confirm that they will be allowed and can be catered for by October 4.
