Following my YouTube video about growing up mixed race in Scotland I was asked if i’d like to be in a documentary called ‘Black and Scottish’ by and I was delighted to take part. This is the first documentary to cover this topic and what an incredible job has done by gathering such talented contributors, directing & filming it so well! Ive debated sharing this on Instagram all week 😩 but thought I would just put it up as an IGTV as it’s the last day of mental health awareness week. I didn’t know what anxiety was until I had it and even then I was misdiagnosed for a year and a half. I didn’t know that it could be so physically debilitating and completely life changing. I recorded this last year and uploaded it to my YouTube channel. It’s so emotional to watch back 😭. Luckily once I realised what I had I managed to take steps to recovery (I have a video on what helped me on my YouTube channel). I’m now at a place where that time seems like a distance memory and have mainly recovered. It really taught me that I never know what other people are going through. Some disabilities and mental health conditions can be completely invisible yet people could be really struggling. So I’m sending love to all of you - I thought that I would never be my old self again - and I now am - it’s possible! ♥️
