September preview:
"Many of the formerly creative developments have become (a) business as usual. Their subversive charm has been absorbed into the real estate market. Content wise, the stimulus for my film consisted in the crucial changes of urban regulations around the new millennium e.g. the introduction of the “right to buy” (yourself-in into social housing) in 2000. The abandonment of the “right to squat” in 2010 indicates a next step towards market radicalism or – depending on perspectives – market justice."

Off Beat Choice: Mauvais Sang this Sunday at OT301:

"Carax's close relationship with cinema is not only expressed through his style, but also through his words: “Mauvais Sang, that film has a sort of father-child relationship with cinema. Cinema was there to reassure me.” (by Roberto Herrera)

"The communal enjoyment, the foundation of the success of the wildlife ridiculous, resides in the presentation of a nostalgic and nerd-chic hobby production that, in its insular clarity mocks the status quo of spectacle as the epitome of entertainment, mocks any smear of erudition on the avant-garde." - Baylee Brits on Animal Beatbox.
