In this issue of Senses of Malaysia, we’re focusing on what we call “Hidden Malaysia” – those places and experiences that might not offer the grandeur of the Petronas Towers or the well-regarded appeal of UNESCO Heritage Cities like Melaka and George Town, but that nevertheless charm their visitors and provide a wealth of travel memories to those who make the effort to seek them out.

We visit the rural east coast of Peninsular Malaysia, for example, a world away from the glitz and glamour of Kuala Lumpur, but easily reached in just a three-hour drive from the capital city.
