While the threat has diminished slightly, there is still potential for severe weather in our area tomorrow. Please stay weather alert, and have a plan for shelter if needed.

April 14th @ 1:30 PM CDT: The latest update to the severe thunderstorm potential for Monday afternoon/evening. We still have a chance in the far eastern combined Panhandles, if the dry line sticks around and does not race east into western Oklahoma. But chances for rain have been decreasing overall across all of the area for tomorrow. If the dryline hangs back and the storms can develop along them, the max severe weather potential you see listed on the left side of the image are all still possible. We still have a chance, but overall percentage of seeing severe thunderstorms have decreased as new weather data has come in throughout the day. Please check back for the latest updates to the forecast as we get closer to Monday afternoon as conditions can still change.

The following is a snippet from an editorial regarding the death of local newspapers. It's not just costing publisher's their livelihoods, it is costing this nation integrity and truth in reporting. You don't want to see a nation with no newspapers. Do yourself a favor, and support your local paper. Whether you are a business owner advertising, or a resident subscribing, every penny matters.

"The arrival of social media has brought a sudden death syndrome for local news. Figures published last month by Press Gazette suggest the main publishers’ revenues fell by more than 80 per cent, when adjusted for inflation, in 15 years. The number of local journalists beavering away at the deeds and misdeeds of councils, MPs and civic leaders fell from around 13,000 to 4,000. Many of those are now reduced to recycling police press releases and social media clickbait, trying to hit a target of several “stories” a day that are no longer the product of investigation and local knowledge. Their publications are often just a ghost of their robust former selves.
Some people have turned instead to local forums on social media, but these are a poor substitute. Who is investigating the corrupt councilor? Or verifying that money was wasted on that failed town center? Or just letting people know about parts of their community they don’t see for themselves? Successive studies in the US, where similar “news deserts” have appeared all over the country, show that the closure of local papers is linked to increased polarization, lower turnout in elections and increased waste as a result of diminished scrutiny of local decisions."
