Painter Jesse P Thomas & Editor Evanice Holz for EYE SEE HUE Issue 02: ⁣

𝐄𝐇: Choose one of your favorite art works in history, and interpret it.⁣

𝐉𝐏𝐓: The map on the wall is a picture not of the world we see, but a diagram constructed for understanding that world. It pictures her absent correspondent’s location. She’s absorbed in her own thoughts, a discreet location. She is pregnant, the child has its own separate existence or developing consciousness. This painting is an object of exquisite balance. Entrance affords the viewer a stable, peaceful respite.⁣
