From Brighton, UK, this is The Heavy Heavy. Are they mod-pop? Are they a blues-ier Fleetwood Mac with a much nicer male lead singer and an equally talented young lady sharing the vocals? They just re-released their debut album and it’s phenomenal. And they’re currently touring the States. Catch them if you can. I will this Wednesday at the Mercury Lounge in New York. I’m fairly confident I’ll never be able to see them again at a venue this size. Do it!

Not a bad resume for Vince Clarke as founder and chief songwriter for Depeche Mode, Yaz, and then one half of fellow British synth-pop legends, Erasure. I don’t know why security would be trying to remove lead singer, Andy Bell from the stage here but it was the 80s so pretty much anything went - in music video land or real life. His kicking tantrum was also pretty great like everything these guys did.

Are you wallowing in self-loathing and frustration that your 2018 gym commitment lasted a week less than last year's? Hate this miserable winter weather?
