ATTENTION LADIES:
With the gravity and relevance of the movement, Around the Fire is seeking multiple guests with whom to discuss the topic in future episodes. We don’t usually put out open requests for guests, but we want to bring our listenership the best, most authentic and relevant voices possible in an attempt to compile multiple perspectives and paint “the big picture.” We don’t feel topics such as s*xism, r**e culture, consent, s*xual violence, etc. would be best explored ONLY by two men. So we’re searching for female guests of varying experiences and opinions to help both us and our listeners form an educated, informed, and empathetic perspective on the issues at hand. Some things to consider...
-We realize this is an incredibly sensitive, volatile, and often painful topic to discuss. We want guests who can treat the subject matter appropriately and respectfully. Due to the gravity of this topic, as well as potential traumatic experiences, we may be open to having a guest on anonymously. Whether we move forward to make an episode together or not, we will not release any names, experiences, or information from messages without consent and comfort.
-We are not looking for shock value, but we are looking for authenticity. With that being said, we are not specifically looking for anyone with OR without first-hand, traumatic experiences. We want to bring multiple perspectives and experiences to the table.
-Our priority at Around the Fire is, and always will be authenticity. We want to find the truth, but also explore the gray areas. Our goal in these episodes is NOT TO DEBATE, but to give multiple voices a chance to be heard while bringing relevant and challenging questions for the sake of understanding.
-The podcast form of media is built around speaking, so candidates should be relatively comfortable in front of a microphone.
-We’re based in South Jersey and find the best interviews are done in person, face to face. IF possible, we’re prefer to find candidates in the NJ/DE/PA area. However, is the right situation arises, we could be open to a remote interview.
If you or someone you know would bring a good voice to the discussion and are COMFORTABLE doing so, please feel free to message us PRIVATELY, either here on our page or individually (Brandon Neuberger or Aaron Corkum). Please tell us a little about yourself, your general perspective on the movement/issues at hand, and what it is you’d like to accomplish by being apart of these potential episodes. Also, we anticipate multiple responses so please take no offense whatsoever if not chosen to move forward. We want to do right by our listeners in bringing multiple DIFFERENT points of view rather than repeating similar ones. So please feel free to share this status, tell your friends, and be part of the discussion. As always, we can’t express how grateful we are for our listeners and those willing to engage with us. Hopefully, we’ll talk soon.
-Brandon and Aaron
