Grasp The Nettle Films Based in London and Devon, Grasp the Nettle Films is a collaboration between Writer / Director Dean Puckett and Producer Rebecca Wolff.

Grasp The Nettle Films is a collaboration between Dean Puckett (Writer/Director) and Rebecca Wolff (Producer). We work across documentary and fiction both long and short form. This year has seen us produce a short for The Guardian 'The AutistiX' which went viral as well as becoming Staff Pick on Vimeo. We have also just completed Circles a fiction short funded via the Creative England iShorts/BFI

NET.WORK scheme. We have a feature documentary Community Radio in development with Creative England and another completed feature documentary, Honey At The Top which premiered at Open City Docs in June this year where it was nominated for Best UK Film.

We are very sad to say that Elias Kimaiyo, the Sengwer community leader and main subject of our documentary Honey at the Top is currently in a hospital in Eldoret with a broken arm and kneecap after being beaten by the Kenya Forest Service. WATCH NOW - HONEY AT THE TOP is the new documentary from Dean Puckett ( Grasp The Nettle Films ) about the Sengwer forest people of the Cherangani Hills, Kenya, being evicted from their ancestral land in the name of conservation. Dean Puckett is heading back to Kenya today to show our film 'Honey at the Top' to the people that are in it. Many of them have no access to internet etc so we have bought a handheld chargeable projector and we are going to screen the film for the community on the edge of the Embobut forest. We will be doing a little follow up filming and you will be able to watch the film in its entirety online in January.

Hey hive-mind! We have a few things going on at the mo that we'd like to tell you about. Firstly we are going back to Kenya in 10 days to visit the Sengwer forest people and screen our documentary film 'Honey at the Top' to the people who are in it and do a little follow up filming before we release the film online in December.

Also we are going to be shooting another fiction short in Jan/ Feb down in deepest darkest Devon. If anyone is interested in being involved with production or financing drop us a line at [email protected] and if your serious we'll send you the script and a link to watch our previous short film Circles.
