What a ride today n the Slovenia🇸🇮
It started out with a beautiful but long stretch of twisty’s. Then I drove up to this little church, which marked the true start of the “scenic loop” and the first offroad section. Hours of gravel roads with stunning mountain views and beautiful forests. Funny detail: I ended the day exactly at the start of what’s known as the hardest section of TET Slovenia. It looked pretty gnarly!😬🤪 But bit of fresh energy and we’re good to go.💪 I’ll share some videos later on.

FINISHED!💪 Wat een tocht😂 superblij en trots dat we het gehaald hebben! De benen zijn moe, maar ik verwacht nu wel wielrenners in te kunnen halen op een fatbike😁 mega respect voor die doorzette ondanks een nasty blessure. Mega veel dank aan Eric Lansu van Friesland Beweegt, zonder hem was het niet gelukt🙏🙌 En ook superbedankt aan alle kijkers, volgers en donateurs. 1700 euro opgehaald💪 we houden de mogelijkheid om te doneren nog open tot dat de video klaar is. Daarna gaan we blij maken😁 Vannacht geslapen als een roos, nu tijd voor een frisse do**he en dan op naar de volgende uitdaging💪

So the plan is to cycle 200K on an old pedal boat to raise money to combat climate change. The good news is that testing yesterday went great, meaning: she did not sink🙂. Pedaling is harder than expected though so we’ll be stoked if we can do 50k a day. That means that our previous projection of 48-72 hours will be more like 96–120😅. We don’t want to leave the boat until we finish so will be living together on a surface of 5 square meters for 4-5 days straight. Needless to say this is our best idea yet.

We’re leaving in a week! Just getting some last gear and supplies and then we’re ready(sort of anyway). Walking across a glacier in the Dolomites. This was the last day of a 6-day trek I did back in 2019 called the Alta Via 4. We had to climb up by a via ferrata that was still deeply covered in snow - because June - which meant we weren’t clipped in for the most part. Definitely one of the more thrilling hikes I’ve done but not coincidentally, also one of the coolest.

SUNDAY SPOTLIGHT 3: Next to “Free Solo”, this is probably one of the biggest climbing films ever made. Together with a Nepali crew, Nirmal Purja set out on an incredible journey to conquer all 14 8,000ers in just 7 months - 6,5 years quicker than the previous record!

Considering how dangerous it is to climb just one 8,000er - many mountaineers never return from the death zone and this will be tragically visible in the film - Nirmal’s undertaking has defied everything that was thought to be impossible.

With this project, Nirmal wants to put the spotlight on Nepali climbers, who have been helping Western climbers to reach the world’s highest summits for decades but have been getting little credit for it.

“14 Peaks” is a feature length film and available on Netflix. If you’re looking for a great watch tonight, this is it.

Just want to say that this bike was a mullet before that was cool so obviously calling him Zaddy Cool. I’ve just realised that there isn’t a single picture of my face on this page so to mix things up, here’s my happy-I-reached-the-summit-face. Little did I know here that on the way down I’d wreck my knee and be pretty much immobile for the next 4 weeks but oh well, view was worth it I suppose🤷‍♂️😅Have a wonderful evening y’all!

SUNDAY SPOTLIGHT 1: Kicking off a new weekly thing called “Sunday Spotlight” in which I share my favourite outdoor and action sports movies.

This very first episode showcases the Red Bull Motorsports film “Paying the Price” about Toby Price Racing's journey to win the Dakar Rally.

I first saw this at the start of the year while we were still in full lockdown. My ski plans had just gone down the drain and I was mindlessly scrolling through Youtube when I stumbled upon this gem. The film immediately hooked me but it was this sequence that really sold me on getting my motorcycle license and give off-roading a try. I’m now 2 days shy of my final exam and my first bike is already waiting in the shed.🙌

Been walking on clouds this past week☁️

What a great place the Lake of Annecy is. Hiking, biking, climbing, kiting, kayaking, canyoning, paragliding.. you can literally do it all here. First time I saw so many different sports cramped together in such a (relatively😅) small space. 10/10 would recommend!

It’s World Champs week! After the incredible racing in Maribor, the DH World Championships promises to be a wild one!

I was lucky to film here with back in 2018. Was so rad to see and prepping for their race run. One tough track to go flat out on. As Blenki said: “Come off here and you could easily break a bone or die…”

Hit export on the biggest project of my life last week. Can’t wait to show you the final result! A lot of hard work went into this one. We managed to pull off some crazy and unique tricks and features which I don’t think have been done before. All I can say for now is we needed a lot of weights, rope and straps for it😂
