Previous name was DarkWorks Entertainment in 2007-2012. started with three members Sinnerbeats, Souija Red, and Naujed “Tha Chief”. Sinnerbeats created the beats and Souija Red, and Naujed wrote the lyrics. In 2008 Naujed left DarkWorks to start his own label; Storm Ent. With Naujed leaving, DarkWorks picked up Young Dev. In the early summer of 2009, Maria Lee; aka Ms. Rea joined the team being th
e daughter of Sinnerbeats she had the ear for music. Later in the summer of 2009, Nellblock joined the raising team. In 2010 DarkWorks started performed at Alrosa Villa, Bernies, and Kobo. Crowds were amazed of such talent DarkWorks came with at every show. They heard comments of, “where did you get those beats”, to “where have you guys been at all these years” and “where are you guys performing next”. With amazement, DarkWorks started putting more time in the studio. Everyone was writing and putting time into the booth. This lead to more shows, mostly Bernies. A set back occurred on Easter of 2011. Devin Peebles; aka Young Dev was tragically murdered. As the team worked though the murder of their team member, DarkWorks took a different turn. Their motto was “We are goin all the way”. DarkWorks regrouped and reassigned duties, and almost lived in the studio and gave their self a group name, Shred Team. A new addition to label had joined the DarkWorks family called Thick Blood. As 2011 was fast approaching, so did the booking of shows, the library of music being completed, and the head strong team worked continuously. As the fan base grew, so did the shows. Shows included; opening for Jelly Roll at Thirsty Whale, open mics at Bellagio, and more shows at Thirsty Whale. DarkWorks Ent will continue to “put in work” in the studio, perform for and support local shows and artists, and give Columbus the best. We will be working on spreading our wings and be looking for shows outside of Columbus and collaborate with more artists. Last but not least, RIP Young Dev; even with you gone – you are not forgotten.
