We're really rockin it now! We've got well over 1000 streams and are steadily increasing our physical distribution of cassettes.
As we gear up for next week's executive board meeting, it's worth reflecting on what we've done so far. In a 1/2 a year, we have:
1) released at least one cassette per month
2) been moderately diverse in terms of genre
3) shipped cassettes to many states
4) found a home at some record stores in Pittsburgh
5) set up shop at twice at Roboto Punk Rock Flea Market
6) scheduled the rest of our year one release calendar
Not bad for two schlubs from the Jersey suburbs.

It’s feckin gorgeous.

I'm sitting here listening to Y Kant Tori Read, the album Tori Amos put out in 1988 on Atlantic. It's a testimonial to just how out of control the industry was in that era. It's as if there was only one or two paradigms that were allowable, and everyone signed (and especially all women who were signed) had to be crushed into a narrow cage. I know there are very real problems with supporting working artists in the era when recorded music has no monitary value, but wow, tuck your kids in at night and remind them to resist golden age thinking.
Today, I blew the mind of a postal worker when I tried to send a cassette via media mail. He had no idea such a wonderful world still existed, yet here we all are.
