I just love this shot captured by our awesome editor .little.edit !! We’re at the for the pregame show and we got lucky to see the air demonstration with the cadets! But the best is - this shot captures me working right alongside the talented . The guy just gets it and I’m so stoked to partner with him on a gig like this!

A little before and after look at today’s FOX NFL feature. We don’t always get the best rooms or locations to work with but a little planning and an awesome crew always helps! We worked to make the window with the abstract architecture in the background the focal point of the two-shot and just covered everything else with black dance floor to take us out of the bland conference room. Most of our time in Doha last week was spent at Al Udeid Air Base but we got a chance to visit Embrace Doha Cultural House in the Al Waukesha Souq. It was a special experience as we got to see them share several Qatari traditions - namely the art of coffee. If you’re ever in Doha make sure you make this stop - it’s something unique and an amazing opportunity to broaden your perspective and understanding of another culture. We can’t thank everyone there enough for their hospitality and patience with our crew! After the Cultural House it was down to the Souq Waqif to spend some time with locals drinking coffee there as well.

What an awesome day! Exhausting - but so good. Thankful for opportunities like this to stretch out the gear - right tool...

This was our Week One tease for the FOX NFL Pregame - we got to use our new Volume on Stage A! None of this happens without an absolutely amazing team of people and I won’t be able to name everyone - but I’ll try! For sure - the team in the FOX Graphics Department put in some crazy long hours along with the crews from and to get everything coordinated. Shooting on these XR and AR stages is new and the tech is changing fast - but the challenges for us are unique as we’re running all these systems in a building deigned for live TV. That takes an entirely different level of coordination between everyone.
A shout-out to and for their vision, patience, and leadership in this thing. And then Chris Smith, Jim Rodman, Danielle Stocki and everyone else at FOX GFX for the long days.
The entire environment was created by and it’s just unbelievable what they pulled off in such a short turn-around. It was all pushed to the Volume by - these two teams worked tirelessly for WEEKS to make sure we were ready for Week 1!
After all of it was ready, we finally got to shoot it! Thanks to and for putting this all together. Sydney pulled all the content and made sure we made time on all the elements while always having solutions to what seemed like a never-ending series of problems. And our guy Nargi found all the best takes, moments, and music to give this whole thing pace and rhythm.
And no way can I forget everyone from the Stage Department at FOX. Melissa Garcia with everyone from Gina Porretti’s team and the incredibly talented camera operators in the studio - John Perry on Steadicam and Geo on the Techno. And Dave and Jeff and Chris Ernst on lighting. Long days for them in the studio while everyone worked through all the new tech.

Week One and I’m in the studio. Great week to be here - we’re unveiling our new studio! Be sure to check out the pregame show to see the set she our new volume - it’s amazing what’s possible and we’re doing with this tech in a LIVE environment! It’s also my first week with this new rig - really happy with the DJI RS2Pro - that I can fly the Sony FX6 with an ARRI Ultra Prime with no counterweights (or very little for the 100mm) is just awesome! Huge thanks to for being the perfect teammate this whole weekend!

This short trailer has some great frames from our set in Pleasanton. From the earliest days of pre-production our co-directors and had a vision of how we would interview John. We had the best team on this - everyone was so dedicated to getting this right - it meant a lot to everyone. There are always changes you would make after you wrap - but this was pretty close to perfect. Thanks to everyone that had a part in this doc!

All my FOX peeps have been posting so much about this - way past time for me to join in!

I’ve been so fortunate to be a part of this project - it’s been really special. The best part? No doubt it’s the team. Directors and created the framework by which everything was built. Our editor took that blueprint and crafted a story over 90 minutes that is moving and fun. And there’s no way a project like this works without APs like and Kenny Connolly - from amazing locations and finding gold in storage units and mountains of footage our team of APs were just awesome.

And there have been so many talented camera & lighting teams that I’ve gotten to work with. People that made this doc look so amazing. Guys like and no doubt so many more that I’ve forgotten to mention!

It’s a great story about the man that has done more to change how America enjoys the sport of football than anyone else. And those aren’t my words - it’s in the doc! I hope everyone gets a chance to see this on Christmas!
