Some of the most unique and memorably sweet moments I’ve captured are those like letter exchanges during prep. While gifts aren’t necessarily a must, the letters give us great audio to work with in the editing room.

I highly recommend doing a letter exchange if you weren’t already thinking of doing one. ESPECIALLY if you aren’t doing personal vows. If you’re only doing repeat after me vows it can really limit our options in how to personalize your film and tell your love story.

Let’s talk about the beef between photographers and videographers. I hear often about the tension between many photographers and videographers who carry an “us versus them” mentality, fighting over some sort of hidden hierarchy of which of the two mediums is more important. Fun fact: The answer is neither.

The vendor team is just that, a team! We are all there with the same end goal in mind. Photographers capture the wedding day in a way videographers simply cannot, and visa versa. Having a creative team who works TOGETHER instead against each other makes a massive difference not only in the quality of the content, but the vibe of the wedding day!

Take the shot above as an example. The amazing had this shot in mind. I LOVE IT! I would’ve never thought to do something like this. The same holds true for many other poses I now have in my arsenal. All because I was willing and excited to hear what my fellow creatives had in mind.

So COUPLES: Choose your vendor team wisely! Especially your creative team. We are going to be by your side for almost the entirety off our wedding day, one of the biggest days of your life. So pick people you get along with, who vibe with you, and who’s work you completely trust.

CREATIVES: Leave your ego at the door. It’s okay to try new things, experiment, and allow room for others to contribute to the vision. Our couples hired us all for a reason, trust them! Learn from each other, support each other, and work together to create content that our couples will cherish for the rest of their lives.
