The Federal Government through the Presidential Amnesty Programme is set to train 2,500 Niger Delta Youths on fishing and associated seafood production.

The training which is to last for three months is expected to empower on a full time basis, a minimum of 2,000 youths who would in turn be taken off the Amnesty programme, saving the government N1.9 billion annually.

The Edo Command of the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) says no fewer than 362 suspects were arrested for illicit drugs use and trafficking between June 2018 and May 2019.

The police on Wednesday arraigned a 25-year-old taxi driver, Kenneth Edet, in a Grade I Area Court in Mpape, Abuja, for allegedly kidnapping 10 children.

The police charged Edet, who lives in Mpape, with one count of abduction.

An Ado-Ekiti Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday ordered a 65-year-old man, Bayo Akinwete, to be remanded in prison custody over the r**e of his 13 year old daughter.

This according to the magistrate is to enable the court seek legal advice from the office of the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).

The court also did not take the plea of the accused.
