Illinois residents: ISRA and Illinois Carry are hosting another IGOLD (Illinois Gun Owners' Lobby Day) on Tuesday October 29. Why? Because the Illinois legislature starts its veto session that week and they are planning to vote on the Fix the FOID Act.
What does this act mean to you as a law-abiding gun owner? According to ISRA: "This bill, if passed, would require the FOID card holder to be fingerprinted, pay for their own background check and firearm transfers through an FFL. This could cost the FOID card holder between $200 and $300, or even more, depending on what happens during your background check. The purpose of SB 1966 is to limit a person’s fundamental Second Amendment right by simply pricing people out of the market to acquire a FOID card, therefore pricing them out of their Second Amendment rights."

The purpose of this event is to see your State Senator face-to-face and urge them to vote NO on SB1966. If it passes the Senate, the Governor will surely sign it. If time allows stop to see your State Representative as well. If you are unable to be present, please call your State Senator and State Representative from your home or work.
