There is a need for creation, a compulsion to make, to adapt, to leave a personal mark on the world in the limited time each of us has in it.
But creativity isn’t limited to the arts. When we are at our best, there is creativity in every human endeavor. Educators, musicians, writers, designers, chefs, and gamers all share the creative impulse; it is the creative drive that engages each of us in our hobbies, our passions, and our interactions with our environment.
Conversations on Table to Stage focus on why and how - why are we drawn to create and how do we express ourselves; why are we so demanding of ourselves to be creative and how do we process limitation and achievement; why do we leave ourselves vulnerable to judgement and how do we grow our creative selves; why is creativity important and how do we incorporate it into our lives.
Host Jordan Werme speaks with guests from Connecticut and the wider world to gather the stories of creators from every discipline, exploring the common threads and themes that run through our collective experiences. If you’ve never picked up a paintbrush you will still recognize parts of yourself in the painter. If you’ve never held a guitar you may yet hear pieces of yourself in the music. If you’re terrified of being in front of a crowd you may recognize the struggle of a stage performer.
