The Potato Chip - George Crum was a chef at a resort in Saratoga Springs, NY. A patron ordered French fries. The fries were served & the customer, complained that the fries were too thick & soft. Crum decided to rile the guest by producing French fries too thin to eat with a fork. Slicing potatoes paper thin, Crum over fried them to a crisp and seasoned them with salt. http://bit.ly/otQt5X
