Journey into the mind of a psychedelic astronaut with a consciousness-expanding comedy show that explores some of the most intriguing substances on earth.

In 2016, science podcaster, mental health advocate, and award-winning stand-up comedian Shane Mauss partnered with MAPS (Multidisciplinary Association of Psychedelic Studies) and embarked on an epic, sold-out 111-city psychedelic comedy tour ‘A Good Trip.’ Along the way, a film crew followed him, making the documentary ‘Psychonautics: A Comic’s Exploration of Psychedelics’. Since then, Shane’s ability to articulate the most mysterious of altered states in thoughtful and hilarious ways has made him the most viewed storyteller on Comedy Central’s 'Tale From the Trip’, a regular at psychedelic conferences, and has gained him a global audience of psychedelic enthusiasts.

Shane created his latest work "A Better Trip" to share what he has learned about having a better psychedelic experience. More importantly, what can psychedelic experiences teach us about having a better trip through existence?

For the first time ever, the performance on stage will be accompanied by live psychedelic visuals created by Michael Strauss. Michael is a video artist and pioneering VJ who has been crafting audiovisual experiences and immersive environments for nearly 20 years. In collaboration with other visionary artists from around the world, Michael will provide the visual stimulation to heighten the atmosphere and create a deeper connection to the descriptions of experiences.

I am excited to announce that my 360 fulldome films "In The Province of the Mind" (with Torkom Ji) and "A New Vision" (with Darpan + Templestep) are Official Selections of the 2022 Dome Fest West immersive film festival!

Both films will be shown in the block of "Morning Meditations: Meditative Experiences in the Dome" 9AM-11AM during the event on Sunday Oct 9th at the Orange Coast College Planetarium and are in the running for several awards.

The epic conclusion of the BEAUTY WAY TOUR with Poranguí & Ashley Klein with projections by Michael Strauss Visuals!

We begin tonight 8/17 at Music Box San Diego and continue up over the weekend through Santa Cruz, Berkeley, and Nevada City.

Multicultural musician, healer, and educator Poranguí will embark on a full West Coast tour to foster and create an intentionally curated container to experience the healing power of music and authentic expression.

Joined by co-facilitator and embodiment guide Ashley Klein, the two will embark on The Beauty Way Tour, offering participants an evening of improvised and transformative world soul music, dance, and sound healing in efforts to connect with themselves and their community. The four-hour journey will open with a ceremony to activate the voice through communal singing, transforming the space into an expedition of rhythm, sound, and movement. Mid-journey, participants will embody themselves and channel their own energy through Poranguí’s extended live music performance and Klein’s vocal guidance and live visual projections, concluding with an integration experience to return to the greater community with medicine of the night.

This geometric design has been the symbol of Michael Strauss for over 15 years: 12 white hexagons surround an iris of 6 blue hexagons with an empty black void in the center, forming a stylized eyeball.

You will recognize the exact same arrangement of hexagons in the iconic “golden mirror array” of the James Webb Space Telescope - our newly awakened eye into the cosmos.

It represents inner vision, divine order, creativity, and the animistic belief that consciousness resides in all elements of nature - down to the level of molecules. It is meant to evoke The Eye of Horus, All-Seeing Eye, and ancient talismans of protection from the “Evil Eye”.

The sacred geometrical form is based on Metatron’s Cube and the Star Tetrahedron. The Star Tetrahedron is the basis of the 64 grid tetrahedron pattern also known as the Grid of Life, the masculine equivalent to the Flower of Life.

This image shows the perfect match of geometry and inverted colors of the two designs. A union of opposites is formed between our new universal icon of outer space discovery - and my own personal symbol of inner space exploration.

This is the first entry in the “Hexagon Mirror Array” video art series, featuring the best of my animations created based on this design over the past 15 years.
