Owl Cave Books is an independent artist-run bookstore and press distributor established in London in 2008, now based in San Francisco. Taking its name from a location in the David Lynch TV series "Twin Peaks," Owl Cave Books was started by artist and bookseller Viniita ‘Neet’ Moran in London in 2008, while she was also the Bookshop Manager at the Institute of Contemporary Arts. What began with an

invitation from artist Marvin Gaye Chetwynd for V to lecture, perform, and run a small feminist book swap during one of Chetwynd’s multi night performance extravaganzas at the Royal Academy of Arts, soon expanded into a permanent artist-run bookstore that has participated in multiple exhibitions, publications, book fairs, and pop ups.

❤️ Barbara Stauffacher Solomon ❤️

Thinking about our dear friend Bobbie who would have been 96 yesterday. We met Bobbie in 2017 and formed an instant friendship which grew into a working collaboration. We became the world wide distributors of her self published works, and with our friend we published two books together, Read Any Good Boots Lately? and Making the Invisible Visible. Bobbie remained a close friend until her death earlier this year, and we’re so grateful to have her daughter and family still in our lives. Special mention to who had a shop next to ours in the Mission District in San Francisco and asked if we could order one of her books, which started our whole friendship. Bobbie’s impact on the world and on us will continue forever and we can’t imagine San Francisco without her. We love you, marvelous Bobbie ❤️👠❤️

Visited yesterday to pay respect to Lawrence Ferlinghetti and everyone who has made it an integral part of San Francisco.

When I moved to SF in 2010 I sent my resume to City Lights after working for almost a decade in bookshops in London (including , and starting my own bookshop). I got a call from City Lights letting me know they had no vacancies at that time, but they were impressed with my work experience and just had to ring me to let me know how much they wanted to offer me a job if they could. I’ll always be honored to have got the call, even though I never made it to working there.

Thank you and RIP ❤️
