October is my favorite month of the year. Having relocated to Salem, Massachusetts in 2019 with my wife and cat, there’s almost always a rotting pumpkin on someone’s stoop to remind us that Halloween isn’t just a holiday for some Salem residents, it’s a way of life.

Meet Ross Matthei, the ears of Overdue Films since 2014. Anyone who has ever been on set with Ross knows that he is consistently the most loved crew member due to his calm, reassuring demeanor amidst the chaos. Last summer he casually saved the neighbor's cat while everyone else was eating dinner. What a guy! While his own gift for sound recording and design is unmatched, he has also passed on his uncanny ability to listen to and mimic sounds to almost-two-year-old Henry Matthei (greatest hits include "wolf", "ambulance" and many different birds calls)!

Meet Sarah Bordelon, producer for Poor Glenna and unquestionably the most athletic member of Overdue Films. Sarah, pictured here before running the Boston Marathon, is often described as simply, "impressive". Producing an independent film can often feel like running a long, seemingly impossible race, so having a producer who is known for agreeing to stupid things and seeing them through to the end is a real asset!

A native of Baton Rouge and graduate of Sarah Lawrence and Emerson College, Sarah currently produces video content for a Boston-based travel agency. She also has the unique distinction of adopting an Overdue Films cast member (a kitten) and marrying our cinematographer, Mr. Sarah Bordelon.
