The Moth Short Story Prize Every year, a single judge is asked to choose three winning stories to feature in the autumn issue of The Moth. Over €5,000 worth of prizes.

Previous judges include John Boyne, Martina Evans, Donal Ryan, Belinda McKeon and Mike McCormack. This year's judge is John Boyne. The first prize is €3,000, the second a week-long writing retreat at Circle of Misse in France (www.circleofmisse.com), including a €250 travel stipend, and the third is €1,000. It costs €12 per story to enter, and there is a word limit of 6,000. The closing date is 30 June 2016. For details of how to enter go to www.themothmagazine.com.

The Moth Nature Writing Prize aims to encourage and celebrate the art of nature writing - poetry and prose - and is judged this year by Max Porter.

Closing 15 September

🌿 The prize is open to anyone over 16.
🌿 Work should be original and unpublished.
🌿 There is a 4,000 maximum word limit, but you can enter as many pieces as you like.
🌿 The entry fee is €15 per entry.

The winner will receive €1,000, a week at Circle of Misse writing retreat in France and publication in the winter issue of The Moth.
