BTS’s “Dynamite” spends its 18th week on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart!

The track takes the No. 44 spot on the January 2-dated chart, which ranks the most popular songs in the United States across all genres and includes the rise of many holiday songs in its rankings this week. “Dynamite” took No. 9 last week after the release of the song’s holiday remix.
“Dynamite” is No. 3 on Billboard’s Global Excl. U.S. chart, which shows the biggest hits based on streaming and sales data from more than 200 territories around the world, excluding the United States. BTS’s “Life Goes On” is also No. 57 on the chart.
“Dynamite” takes No. 12 on the Global 200 chart, which includes worldwide data, with 10 of the top 11 songs being seasonal tracks. The song grabs No. 14 on the Pop Songs radio airplay chart and No. 15 on the Radio Songs chart.

After a new “Music Bank” episode did not air on December 25, the show has now shared its ranking for the fourth week of December.
BTS’s “Dynamite” came in first with a total score of 3,570. Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon grabbed second with her song “What Do I Call You” earning 2,850 points. BTS’s “Life Goes On” took third place with 2,482 points.

BTS has just made history in Japan!

Earlier this year, the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) implemented a new certification system for online streaming of songs, as an addition to its pre-existing certification systems for physical album shipments and digital download sales. According to the new system, songs are certified silver once they reach 30 million streams, gold at 50 million streams, and platinum at 100 million streams.
In its latest batch of certifications (dated November 2020), the RIAJ officially awarded BTS’s smash hit “Dynamite” a platinum certification in the streaming category after the song surpassed over 100 million streams in just three months. Although BTS has previously received platinum certifications from the RIAJ for physical albums, this latest achievement marks the first time that one of their songs has been certified platinum for streaming.
Additionally, “Dynamite” is now the first song by any foreign group in RIAJ history ever to receive a platinum certification for streaming—and only the second overall song by a foreign artist, following Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You” (which went platinum last month).
BTS also racked up two gold certifications for “DNA” and “Stay Gold,” each of which surpassed 50 million streams, as well as a silver certification for “Your Eyes Tell,” a Japanese song that was co-composed by Jungkook.

BTS has conveyed a heartfelt message for viewers at the end of '2020 SBS Gayo Daejeon'.

On December 25 KST, the boys of BTS performed for the finale at the annual SBS music festival and left fans feeling warm and fuzzy with a sweet message.
When J-Hope asked Jimin about the most wonderful moment in 2020, the member responded, "It was the most miraculous moment when we wrapped up our concert safely and met our fans."
When RM asked the same question to V, he responded, "I think the fact that ARMYs even exist even when we unfortunately cannot perform in front of them is in itself a miracle."
Jin also conveyed, "Our members were all really hard-working this year, so thank you. You have worked so hard since our debut. I am so proud."

The BLACKPINK showed off their individual colors with the concept of four colorful angels wearing lace dresses adorned with cute accessories. BTS is being recognized by the Japan Record Awards!

On December 23, the Japanese network TBS shared that BTS is receiving the Special International Music Award from the 62nd Japan Record Awards.
It’s shared that the event will include BTS performing their songs “Dynamite” and “Life Goes On,” which will be presented as videos pre-recorded in Korea. Suga is on hiatus after receiving shoulder surgery, and so the group will be performing with six members.
The 62nd Japan Record Awards will air live on TBS on December 30.

On December 22, 'Idol Chart' revealed the results of its survey held from the 14th to the 20th, asking, "The best group that made 2020 shine." BTS topped the idol chart list with 16,884 votes or 50% of the 33,481 votes cast.

BTS’s “Dynamite” has become their first song to be certified gold for digital downloads in Japan!

The Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) has officially awarded “Dynamite” a gold certification in the download category after the song surpassed over 100,000 digital download sales.
Although BTS has previously received gold certifications from the RIAJ for both physical albums and online streaming of songs—”Dynamite” was certified gold in the streaming category last month after surpassing 50 million streams—this latest achievement marks the first time that one of BTS’s songs has received a gold certification for downloads.
According to the RIAJ’s certification thresholds, songs are certified gold once they reach 100,000 downloads and platinum at 250,000 downloads.

BTS continues their success on Billboard’s charts with their hit track “Dynamite” and latest album “BE”!

“Dynamite” rises on Billboard’s Pop Songs radio airplay chart for the week ending December 19, achieving a peak of No. 5 that sets a new record for all-South Korean acts on the chart!
The ranking measures total weekly plays on approximately 160 mainstream Top 40 radio stations, and back in November BTS first broke the No. 10 record set by PSY’s “Gangnam Style” in 2012. They’re now the first all-South Korean act to grab a spot in the Top 5.
On the Hot 100 for this week, “Dynamite” is No. 24 as it spends its 16th week on the chart. The title track “Life Goes On” from “BE” is No. 93 in its third week on the chart.
“Dynamite” also spends a second week at No. 10 on the Radio Songs chart, extending their record as the first all-South Korean act to land a spot in the chart’s Top 10.
“Life Goes On” holds the top spot on the Digital Song Sales chart for the third week, while “Dynamite” rises up to No. 2.
“Dynamite” is No. 3 on the Global Excl. U.S. chart while “Life Goes On” is No. 18. On the Global 200 chart, “Dynamite” is No. 5 and “Life Goes On” is No. 41.
“BE” is No. 18 in its third week on the the Billboard 200 and holds No. 1 on the World Albums chart. It takes No. 7 on the Top Album Sales chart.

For her recent pictorial with Elle, Jisoo modeled a variety of outfits from an adorable yellow dress to more casual streetwear.

For the second year in a row, BTS swept all four Daesangs at the 2020 Mnet Asian Music Awards.

Hosted by Song Joong Ki, the 2020 Mnet Asian Music Awards took place on December 6 without an audience due to COVID-19 restrictions.
BTS took home a total of eight awards, which includes the four Daesangs (Album of the Year for “Map of the Soul: 7,” Song of the Year for “Dynamite,” Worldwide Icon of the Year, and Artist of the Year) and Best Male Group, Best Performance – Male Group (“Dynamite”), Best Music Video (“Dynamite”), and the Worldwide Fans’ Choice Top 10. IU’s “eight,” which was produced by and features BTS’ Suga, also won Best Collaboration.
In their speech for Album of the Year, which was presented by James Corden, Jimin said, “Thank you! There are people who might not know this, but Suga is recovering from shoulder surgery. But because we’ve received such a big award, he’s made a surprise appearance tonight.”
Through a phone call on stage, Suga said, “I am watching the ceremony live. I want to say thank you to ARMY, who have given us the Album of the Year award. In their speech for Worldwide Icon of the Year, which was presented by Park Seo Joon, RM said in English, “I’m nervous. You can see I’m nervous while I’m wearing a mask. ARMY, do you hear me? First, I’d like to give a shout-out to our worldwide handsome Jin, and also, I’d like to shout-out our worldwide ARMYs. All over the world, in your room, in your house. I hope that my truth and my mind can be conveyed through this paper thing [his mask]. As we think of ‘worldwide,’ I wonder if the world is really wide. Of course it’s wide, but in the territory of music and love, the world is not that wide. It’s really small, actually. Throughout this year, thanks to your love and support, we could feel you as if you were right beside us and right in our mind. We are all connected. Our worldwide ARMYs made this award and gave it to us. I hope that you can stay safe and we can meet in person and say ‘I love you’ to each other.”
In the speech for Song of the Year, which was presented by Song Joong Ki, RM said, “MAMA is the one awards ceremony that we weren’t invited to when we made our debut. We really wanted to come here, and it was a ceremony that we felt a lot of envy for, but as time went on, we received such big awards here in succession. It is deeply moving for us. ‘Dynamite’ is a piece of luck that came our way when we were weighed down by these tragic times. We didn’t know that it would receive this much love. During these difficult times, there were times when it weighed on our minds that we were the only ones receiving such good news, and we didn’t feel comfortable with it. Whether it’s like ‘Dynamite’ or like ‘Life Goes On,’ through dance and music, could we say that we should plant our feet in the ground where we stand? Because there are so many people who cannot do the work that they used to do anymore, we wondered if we could really say something like that. In the end, we are people who dance and sing, so we feel both grateful and sorry that people accepted into their hearts our message that we should have faith in a better tomorrow. It’s sad and difficult and joyous to say this, but time will go on, tomorrow will come, and the morning will rise. Let us work hard at living and greet the new morning with a smile. Whether it’s explosive like ‘Dynamite’ or calm like ‘Life Goes On,’ we will plant both our feet in the ground and work hard as BTS. Thank you for all the love you’ve shown us.”
In their speech for Artist of the Year, which was presented by Lee Jung Jae, J-Hope said, “I’m grateful to ARMY for staying up with us so late. The weight of this award makes us realize that it is truly the end of the year. It is an honor to be able to perform every year at the end-of-year ceremonies and receive such great awards. A lot has changed in the world, but this feeling hasn’t changed. Every year, as we take another step on our path to growth, the words we say the most are: to our amazing fans. Being able to receive these awards, being able to perform here, this is all thanks to ARMY. It’s a bit awkward to say this, but the heroes of this award are the members. We were able to get through this year because of these members, and this team. I don’t know if Suga is watching this, but please get well soon and stand on stage with us soon. We shine more when you’re with us.”
Jimin added the group’s thanks for their personal staff, the staff at Big Hit Entertainment, and their families and friends. Jimin said, “Somehow a whole year has passed. We worked so hard, but it felt like it went by so fast, and sometimes so slow, that it’s hard to remember it all. I’m not sure how to think about it. It’s complicated and sad and happy and angering and there doesn’t seem to be much that was left behind, but in any case, it went by. But we held on, so I hope that next year we can return here and meet again.” V also added his special thanks for the group’s team of managers.
