I’ve been so quiet on this account basically all year - and that’s because I have been working so hard to get to this point. In the last few months, The Upswing has launched 10+ new websites, branding projects, and planned events, all in prep for my newest adventure: becoming a mother. I’ll be taking some time off to learn my role and get to know my new little one, so please bear with me as we figure it all out together. It has been a transitional few months for me at The Upswing, and honestly it has been tough at times to find the motivation and inspiration I had gotten so used to. I’ve still been chugging along and taking care of it all, but it wasn’t always feeling fun. I had no idea what to post here or what to even share. Just one of those seasons in business!

BUT I set a goal to launch something new by the end of this year, and I am working so hard to meet that goal. And along the way, rediscovering that motivation and inspiration too.

I want every business or person with a dream to have a beautiful website at an attainable price point - more on that soon. Thank you for sticking with me. I’m excited to keep dropping hints and announce our new branch soon!!! Keep shining ✨

I’ve been a little quiet on social media lately as the world has felt so dark and mixed up to me. Talking about branding and websites and social media tips just felt so petty in comparison, so I took a step back to reset. Sometimes when the waves are coming, we brace for impact, but I’m doing my best to ride the waves instead. Today is my birthday and as I look back on the past year of my life, I am filled with gratitude for the support and love I have received from clients and friends at The Upswing. Are you feeling overwhelmed with work lately? I spoke about this in this week’s The Upswing Update newsletter - I have been feeling overwhelmed lately with all I have to do today and what I am anticipating in the pipeline for the rest of 2021. I find myself focusing so much (and let’s be real - worrying) on what’s to come instead of allowing myself to enjoy the ride of continuing to build this business. I’ve started saying these mantras to myself when I start to get in the weeds and it’s helped me to be so much more present and have some fun. If this sounds familiar, try saying these out loud to yourself, repeating them, and believing them. You got this 👊🏻

🌟 HAPPY JULY 🌟 It's my birthday month and this is my mantra as I close another ring around the sun. I’ve really come to see that in this business, I have majorly struggled with imposter syndrome. Why would anyone want to work with me? What makes me stand out? Am I talented enough to be a player in the game? At times, this has stopped me from moving forward. Not anymore! Now I see that the path to success is knowing my worth and not settling for less. We are officially halfway through 2021 🤯 what can you do to recognize and value your worth? Remember this photo I shared a few weeks back? I promised I was going to do something fun with it - so I decided to create a brand mood board! Whenever I find inspiration, I love to create these mood boards - sometimes for brands I make up in my head, sometimes for established ones and find ways to pull together the various elements into a cohesive brand. For this one, I imagine a curated home store called Floor 7, that features apartment sized home furnishings and accessories that bring the outside in. I quickly created a logo with clean lines that could be used for a sticker or business card, and chose a leaf for the secondary mark to emphasize the influence of the outdoors. The colors are all pulled directly from the brick building, the blue fire escape, and the tree outside. Inspiration is everywhere! ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
